2014 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD to debut at LA Auto Show

The primo member of Acura‘s flagship line gets its formal unveiling later this month at the Los Angeles Auto Show when the wraps officially come off of the 2014 Acura RLX SH-AWD. The most potent and technologically advanced 4-door model the division has ever produced will augment its standard 3.5-liter i-VTEC V-6 engine and 7-speed dual-clutch automated transmission with a trio of electric motors and a lithium ion battery pack — a combination similar to the one that will be found on the upcoming Acura NSX supercar.

In addition to raising the total system output from 310 to 377 horsepower and earning the newest RLX variant a 30-mpg combined EPA fuel economy rating, the electric edge also promises to markedly enhance the Sport Hybrid‘s overall dynamic envelope thanks to the torque-vectoring talents of Acura’s superb Super Handling All-Wheel Drive setup. Expect more details and pricing information at the show.
