The Kia Certified Pre-Owned program capitalizes on this property and adds other benefits to attract used car shoppers.
Kia Certified Pre-Owned vehicles are six years old or newer with under 80,000 miles on the odometer. They receive a 165-point quality assurance inspection, which includes a vehicle history report. For any necessary repairs or maintenance issues, Kia-certified technicians use manufacturer-authorized parts. Once they qualify, Kia Certified vehicles carry a 10-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty, computed to start on the original in-service date and zero miles. CPO vehicles come with 1-year/12,000-mile of “Platinum Coverage,” a limited basic warranty. Both warranties are transferrable to future owners upon payment of a $40 fee.
Additional benefits include roadside assistance for 10 years and unlimited miles, with a Cross Country Motor Club Driver’s OneCard Membership providing flat tire, out-of-gas, lockout, and jump-start assistance. Emergency towing coverage offers up to $75 per covered breakdown. Travel breakdown coverage reimburses owners up to $100 per day up to $500 per covered mechanical breakdown, and rental car coverage pays up to $35 per day for up to 10 days.
Kia Certified Pre-Owned Lite
For buyers looking for cars of an older vintage, Kia Certified Pre-Owned Lite vehicles can be between seven and 10 years old with less than 100,000 miles on the odometer. They receive a 135-point inspection focusing on major components, and a vehicle history report is included. Kia factory-trained technicians will make any necessary reconditioning or replacements with manufacturer-authorized parts. Once approved, Kia CPO Lite vehicles carry a 6-month/6,000-mile limited powertrain warranty that begins on the day of their purchase. The Certified Limited Warranty for the CPO Lite program offers many of the same added perks as the newer Kia-certified models, like travel, towing, and rental coverage. Additional coverage plans can also be purchased.
