BMW’s new M2 for 2017 is your car if you want a small, fast, rear-wheel-drive German high-performance luxury coupe with a manual transmission. And it’s perfect for the cult of BMW M enthusiasts wishing for a modern interpretation of the iconic E36 M3 of the 1990s.
You May Not Like This Car If...
If you want a convertible, you’ll have to stick with the standard 2 Series for now. If you want a high-performance BMW M sedan, you’ll have to step up to the more powerful and more expensive M3. If you want all-wheel drive, shop the Audi S3 and Mercedes-Benz AMG CLA45.
