The 2021 Chrysler Voyager is now in its second year as a more affordable version of the Pacifica. And Kelley Blue Book has once again named it the Best Minivan for the 5-Year Cost to Own Awards.
In the Voyager’s favor is a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $27,235. This compares favorably to the Chrysler Pacifica’s starting MSRP of $35,045. With the Voyager, however, you don’t get a power liftgate, power side doors, or adaptive cruise control. On a positive note, the Voyager is available with an optional safety package that has automatic emergency braking.
The 7-passenger Voyager gets the same modern body as the Chrysler Pacifica. It also benefits from the same 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and 9-speed automatic transmission. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, as are Stow ‘n Go 3rd-row seats and Uconnect infotainment.
From our Expert Review: “The 2021 Voyager minivan comes in L and LX trim levels (there’s also a Voyager LXi trim, but that’s for fleet customers only). The base L trim has dual-zone manual climate control and a manually adjustable driver’s seat. But it also has heated side mirrors, cruise control, and an infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen and a 6-speaker sound system.”
A tip from the same review: “It’s worth spending the extra $2,810 for the 2021 Voyager LX to gain a more comfortable suspension setup, 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, 3-zone temperature control, ambient cabin lighting, satellite radio, second-row stowage, and access to more options.”
As a lower-priced van with all the structural and powertrain goodness of the Pacifica (but no hybrid or all-wheel-drive model), the Voyager has again staked its claim as the Best Minivan in KBB’s 5-Year Cost to Own ratings.
