Best Minivan Resale Value: 2020 Honda Odyssey

Predicted Resale Value After 5 Years of Ownership: 39.4%

BRVA-best-resale-value-awards-logo-240The Honda Odyssey minivan has claimed the KBB Minivan Best Buy Award a whopping five times in the last six years. The reason for this dominance? The Odyssey shines as a people hauler, one that’s practical, safe and enjoyable to drive while also being blessed with Honda’s outstanding reliability. As such, the Honda Odyssey has earned a “three-peat” victory in the KBB Best Resale Value Awards, sweeping the Minivan category for each of the least three years.

The Odyssey’s formula for success is described well in our recent Best Buy write-up: “Simply put, this Honda van shines in all areas. As a family hauler, the well-built Odyssey seats up to eight people in a 2-3-3 configuration, and it’s roomy enough to accommodate actual adults inside, not just kids. What’s more, the center row of Magic Slide seats can be moved every which way to meet various needs, while the split-folding rearmost bench continues to flip and disappear into a rear floor that serves as a super deep cargo hold when it’s not occupied by the folded seat.”

More from the same post: “Our KBB Minivan Best Buy winner of 2020 also drives well. While the Odyssey suspension is tuned for supple ride comfort about town, this Honda also is a genuine pleasure to drive on those twisty sections of road that lead, say, into the local mountains. Natural-effort steering and brakes make the Odyssey feel smaller than it actually is.”

Safety, naturally, also is paramount with minivans, and in this key area the Odyssey shines. Honda Sensing, a safety suite standard on most models, includes active cruise control, a forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking, plus lane-departure warning and a system designed to keep the Odyssey from leaving the road and having an accident.
