Predicted Resale Value After 5 Years of Ownership: 43.0%
As a repeat winner, the Lexus LX is an old-school SUV dressed to the nines. It has plenty of luxury touches to coddle its occupants while riding on solid body-on-frame construction to do the heavy lifting when it comes to towing or going off-road. Based on Toyota Land Cruiser mechanicals, the Lexus LX 570 is a keeper as evidenced by its high resale value.
In addition to its rugged chassis, the Lexus LX 570 boasts ample power from its 383-horsepower V8. This combination results in a truck that has a long service life, high build quality and a great reliability track record. When it comes to design, form certainly follows function. The boxy look of the LX 570 serves two purposes: it projects a rugged image that reflects its capability and, secondly, the unchanging nature of the basic design itself is testament to the vehicle’s longevity. It’s a modern classic in its own right, which also means that it won’t depreciate as quickly as designs that are slaves to fashion.
This is also no poser when it comes to emphasizing the utility part of being an SUV. There’s room for eight in its 3-row configuration, while new for last year is a 5-seat 2-row variant. The LX 570 is also capable of towing up to 7,000 pounds and delivers power to the road through an 8-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive setup.
Inside, there are plenty of plush features including extensive use of leather upholstery and wood trim. The LX 570 boasts amenities like 4-zone climate control, a big 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a power moonroof, power liftgate and driver assists including blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control. Big and brawny with a soft spot for its passengers inside, the 2020 Lexus 570 simply works and works well while retaining its value and delivering the performance expected from a sturdy, truck-based full-size SUV.
