The 2021 Hyundai Palisade packs plenty of panache into a good-looking, comfortable 3-row SUV that seats up to eight passengers. It has a welcoming interior, pleasant road manners, top safety scores, and an impressive powertrain warranty. For the second year in a row, it has garnered a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS. Packed with Features
The 2021 Hyundai Palisade comes in four trim levels: SE, SEL, Limited, and the new Calligraphy. Even in the most basic trim, the 2021 Hyundai Palisade comes packed to the gills with features. The 2021 model year adds things like wireless smartphone integration, LED lights, and HD Radio at the base level. The SEL trim adds a sunroof and LED interior lighting, and trailer pre-wiring is upgraded from 4-pin to 7-pin. You can opt for all-wheel drive at an additional cost of $1,700 across the lineup. The Calligraphy trim comes standard with all-wheel drive.
At the base or SE trim, you get automatic on/off LED headlights, and one-touch sliding second-row seats. In addition, there’s an 8-inch infotainment display, wireless smartphone integration, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability. Plus you get lane-keeping assistance and Hyundai’s 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty across the entire line.
Step into the 7-passenger SEL for an additional $2,650, and the options list gets longer. You can pick and choose features that come standard on higher trims. The SEL comes with a powered sunroof, heated front seats, 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, second-row captain’s chairs, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
Going Upscale
In the Limited trim ($46,265), you get a dual-pane sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, Nappa leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, and second-row captain’s chairs. There is 64-color ambient cabin lighting, a head-up display, a 12.3-inch display, and a 360-degree camera system. The Limited also receives an upgraded Harman Kardon 12-speaker, 630-watt surround sound system.
At the top of the line, the 2021 Palisade gains a new trim, called the Calligraphy model. In addition to the features found in lower trims, the Calligraphy adds AWD, 20-inch alloy wheels, quilted leather door panels, and a perforated leather-covered steering wheel. The Calligraphy model will run you $48,890.
Safety First
The 2021 Hyundai Palisade also comes with a suite of safety features. At the base level, you get automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and more. There are seven airbags, including one for the driver’s knees. Opt for the SEL trim or above, and you also get blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.
