The all-electric 2024 Audi e-tron GT is a top-flight luxury sedan — with attributes like power, style, tech, build quality, and sustainability. Pricing starts at $148,595.

Buyers of new luxury electric sedans are having a golden moment. The 2024 Audi e-tron GT has many things going for it, and the one thing we weren’t so impressed by last year has improved, even if it is just 11 more miles of range.

As well as competitors from Tesla and Lucid, Audi’s traditional German rivals also offer flagship electric sedans — like the BMW i7 and the Mercedes-EQ EQS. The e-tron GT shares a platform and many components with the Porsche Taycan, and this sportier, lower-slung attitude is more the e-tron GT’s vibe.

What's New for 2024

Audi says all versions of the 2024 e-tron GT can achieve a maximum range of 249 miles. That’s up from last year’s 238 miles for the Premium Plus and Prestige models and the RS e-tron GT’s previous 232 miles. The e-tron GT launched for the 2022 model year, so it’s still fresh.

The entire lineup gains upgraded power steering, LED interior lighting, and illuminated doorsill inlays. The Prestige trim now has HD Matrix-design LED headlights with Laserlight as standard and a simulated suede headliner. Audi also offers a 6-month

2024 Audi RS e-tron GT Pricing

The 2024 Audi RS e-tron GT has a starting sticker price of $148,595.

MSRP
KBB Fair Purchase Price (national avg.)
$148,595
$133,735

Putting these substantial amounts into context, the Mercedes-EQ EQS luxury sedan’s starting price is similar to that of the e-tron GT, going up to about $150K for the 649-horsepower AMG model. The Porsche Taycan begins at $91K with 402 horsepower, while the Turbo version with 670 horsepower is more like $161K. The BMW i7 (an all-electric version of the 7 Series) is priced from $105,700 to $168,500.

The Tesla Model S is priced from the high 70s to $108.5K. And the Lucid Air goes from $82.4K up to (gulp) $249,000 for the extremely fast and powerful Sapphire model. If this is all a bit overwhelming, the 365-horsepower Genesis Electrified G80 is more like $80K and has a range of 282 miles.

Before buying a new e-tron GT all-electric luxury sedan, check the Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price to know how much you should be paying. In terms of resale values, the Model S and Taycan do well, while the e-tron GT turns in an average performance.

Power, Ride and Handling

The Premium Plus and Prestige versions of the 2024 e-tron GT electric sedan enjoy 469 horsepower (523 in Boost mode) and 464 lb-ft of torque from a pair of electric motors. With one motor each driving an axle, the e-tron GT has all-wheel drive as standard, helping it apply its considerable muscle to the tarmac. In Boost mode, the sprint from a standstill to 60 mph is 3.9 seconds.

That’s only a tenth slower (about the blink of an eye) than the comparable Porsche Taycan 4S. Tesla claims 3.7 seconds for its slowest Model S. Yet 3.9 seconds is still objectively quick.

To go even quicker, we can check out the 2024 RS e-tron GT, which buzzes with 590 horsepower (637 in Boost) and 612 lb-ft of torque, hitting 60 mph in 3.1 seconds. Sure, the fastest Model S claims 1.99 seconds, the Lucid Air Sapphire claims 1.89 seconds, and the fastest Taycan (the 750-horsepower Turbo S, which isn’t turbocharged) posts 2.6 seconds. But during this kind of acceleration, as our senses try to catch up with our high-powered electric cars, these few tenths here and there are more academic than anything else.

And there are plenty of other attributes to Audi’s all-electric luxury sedan lineup. For example, a sport-tuned adaptive air suspension is standard, providing a spectrum of comfort to control all at the touch of a button. Audi fine-tuned this suspension on Germany’s famously demanding Nürburgring racetrack.

E-torque Vectoring Plus is optional in the Premium Plus and Prestige models and standard in the RS. It includes a locking rear differential and slows the inside rear wheel so that the car can track around corners with optimum precision. Rear-wheel steering is also available across the lineup, bringing greater agility and maneuverability.

Range and Charging

Audi gives a maximum range for all 2024 e-tron GT variants as 249 miles, working out to 85 MPGe combined. It’s better than last year but still behind some strong rivals. The best range of the Model S is 405 miles. The Lucid Air Grand Touring can do 516 miles. The Mercedes-EQ EQS sedan has a maximum range of 350 miles, while the BMW i7 can achieve 317 miles. Even the Genesis Electrified G80 is rated at 282 miles.

Charging is another matter, and the e-tron GT is up there with the best of them, thanks to its fast-acting 800-volt setup: 180 miles of range (or 5% capacity to 80%) in 22 minutes or so on a DC fast charger. A 240-volt home setup installed professionally could fully recharge in about four hours.

Futuristic Interior

If the exterior of the 2024 e-tron GT leads potential buyers into an Audi showroom, chances are the interior is going to seal the deal. This is where those fantasies of driving a car from an exciting, high-tech future become real life.

Right in front of the driver is a digital instrument cluster. Like the infotainment touchscreen in the center console, “high-resolution” only begins to describe the crispness of the graphics. Naturally, all the materials are super-high quality, and the overall design mixes intelligence with flair.

The standard steering wheel is flat-bottomed and wrapped in a suede-like material used in many racing machines. Audi offers fine Nappa leather, but the standard appointments are leather-free. LED ambient lighting and heated rear seats are standard at the Prestige level, optional in the Premium Plus. Other extras include massaging front seats and matte carbon inlays replacing wood accents.

On paper, the 2024 e-tron GT luxury electric sedan has seating for five. In the real world, the person sitting in the rear center seat had better be short, thin, and stoic. Best to call this a 4-seater. Even then, the sleek design of the roof impacts the rear headroom, and the rear legroom is a scant 32.2 inches.

There’s a small trunk as well: 9.2 cubic feet. An extra storage space under the hood can take a gym bag or two.

Beautiful (to us) Exterior

This is a 4-door car, but it’s long and low, like a supercar. Opinions may differ, but we think the e-tron GT looks breathtaking, making the Tesla Model S look like the 11-year-old car it actually is.

The RS e-tron GT has a carbon fiber roof to reduce weight and lower the center of gravity. A fixed panoramic glass roof is optional with the RS, standard on the regular e-tron GT models.

Our Favorite Features and Tech

Leatherette/Dinamica upholstery
The days of horrible fake leather are long behind us, especially in luxury marques like Audi. Dinamica is the company’s special name for its own kind of simulated suede. This combination is standard in all e-tron GT versions.

Bang & Olufsen audio
Standard even in the most affordable Premium Plus trim, Danish company Bang & Olufsen makes some of the finest high-end audio systems.

Dual charging ports
There’s one on each side, making life just a little more convenient.

Remote Park Assist Plus
With this feature, available only as an option with Prestige trim, the e-tron GT can drive itself into and out of parallel or perpendicular parking spaces. The driver can use a smartphone app for remote control from the outside, or stay inside and press a button.

HD Matrix-design LED headlights with Laserlight
Although matrix-design LED headlights are standard across the 2024 e-tron GT lineup, these provide even greater illumination with a white/blue light, yet will adapt automatically to prevent other drivers from being dazzled. They become standard in the Prestige trim this year.

Sport Pro front seats
Optional in every 2024 e-tron GT, these front seats have pneumatic adjustment for extra leg support and side bolsters. They also have heating/ventilation and massaging functions.

Battery and Efficiency

The lithium-ion battery in all versions of the e-tron GT has a gross capacity of 93 kilowatt-hours (kWh). That’s in the same region as most prominent players in the luxury electric vehicle arena.

The battery pack is kept at an optimum temperature. So an e-tron GT owner could go to a track day, put in a series of hot laps (well worth doing, by the way), head for a public fast charger, have a light lunch while recharging the car, then go back to the track again.

The e-tron GT is also built at a carbon-neutral facility.

4-Year/50,000-Mile Warranty

Audi’s new-car warranty lasts four years or 50,000 miles, whichever happens first. That’s par for the course among European luxury marques. The battery pack is covered for eight years or 100,000 miles.

Safety Ratings

The Audi e-tron GT has yet to be crash-tested by any independent agencies. However, the Euro NCAP program gave the closely related Porsche Taycan a maximum 5-star overall score. Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, intersection assistance, and blind-spot monitoring.
