Narrow year range (drag arrows to filter):
BMW subsidiary BMW M GmBH develops small volumes of ultra high-performance M versions of the compact 3 Series, mid-size 5 Series, luxury coupe and convertible 6 Series and Z4 sports cars. The heart of the 5 Series-based M5 is a high-revving 500-hp V10 engine matched with a standard Sequential Manual Gearbox (SMG). The dynamic M5 offers 279 combinations of chassis and powertrain settings including three power levels and three modes each of Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Electronic Damping Control (EDC). Although faced with stiffer competition today than ever before, the M5 remains the king of sports sedans.

"Unclear what I think of this car. I have had the 2008 535xi for 13 months. A series of weird electrical problems are now arising. I must agree with other reviewers, none of the dealerships know how to deal with a car with so many software clichés and on going software programming issues. They have blamed me for "not driving the car enough for the computer to work correctly." Hugh? Have had battery replaced and software upgrades to correct an ongoing problem without any resolution. Other car in family is Lexus, 5 years old, absolutely no problem. Not sure what to think or do."

"Have owned this vehicle for 3 years and 40,000 miles. Dealer serviced (a bit expensive) but maintained to the highest standard. It rides well, very comfortable, not fast but quick enough, gets 30mpg on the highway with cruise set at 75. Unflapable handling and excellent feel of the road through the steering. Has bluetooth phone, navigation, sirius satelite radio, heated seats and stering wheel and 4 wheel drive to boot. Even with 85,000mi on the odometer, it drives like a new vehicle no shakes or ratttles, no wind noise and has never missed a day of service. I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves driving."

"Best car I have ever had in my 29 years of owning cars. Just exceeds the 1969 Camaro SS, with big block engine, I had in high school and this car is very refined for a middle aged guy, I don't have to repair it and the performance is amazing. It is almost as fun as driving my brother's 2007 Porsche 911 from a performance perspective, but the ride is way better and alot easier to drive daily."
