"Bought this 2002 brand new. Just turned six years old in May 2008 and I haven't had one single thing go wrong with it in 23000 miles. It's a rocket with 315hp powering a compact, lightweight body. It's low slung and stable. It has that sturdy and chunky look like the brute this is. I think it blows a boxster away in styling and with its horsepower advantage will leave it in your rearview mirror if you went head-to-head. You can throw it into turns and it feels like you're on rails. A huge value in today's market. Still contemporary and headed for the classic category as sure as I write this review."

"The 2002 M Roadster is a sweet car. For you to understand the significance of my writing that, you need to know that I am a hardcore Porschephile and I hate BMWs. I've had two BMWs in the 80s and they were both garbage. So when a co-worker coerced me into borrowing his M Roadster for a weekend, because he was hoping to sell it to me, I begrudgingly accepted and was shocked -- nay horrified -- to discover what a monster little performer this car is. It is QUICK, it is FAST, it is NIMBLE. It has a wicked HP to weight ratio and tight steering. I was a little put off by the combination of a light switch (as in on/off) clutch and a gas pedal that had more play than I was used to -- the effect of which was to make me want to stall a lot starting from first gear; but I'm sure I could get used to the setup with practice (or get it altered at a shop). The sense of being close to the road was exhillirating: the car is very low and has exceptionally short doors, so you get that old-school sense of hanging out on the road. The one thing that continued to bother me was how long the nose looked and how prominent it was in my view (well, that and the fact the wrong German badge was on the front of it). People more accustomed to long-nosed classics like the XKE, 280ZX, etc. than the seemingly invisible-nosed 911 might not be bothered by that. In short, heckuva car, especially for the money. (But I gave it back to him anyway... brand loyalty dies hard!)"

"This car performs best on a winding road with 25, 35 and 45mph corners. She literally straightens the corners. The front/rear weight dist. is nearly 50/50. Power through the corner and feel the g's. 0-60 in 4.7. and the infinite variable valve timing gives the car smooth strong torque at any speed. Washing the car is an emotional experience."
