This policy covers how Kelley Blue Book Co., Inc. ("KBB") treats information which personally identifies you (personal information) that KBB collects and receives. The personal information we collect may include your name, address, phone number, or e-mail address. Once you provide KBB with personal information, you are not anonymous to us.

There are several links from the KBB Web site to third party information and service providers who may collect personal information from you in order to provide you with information or services. KBB has no control over the privacy policy of any third party company, so please examine their privacy policy prior to submitting any personal information. This privacy policy only applies to the KBB Web site.

General

When you research KBB vehicle values or vehicle pricing information, KBB does not collect any personal information from you. KBB does, however, collect some non-specific visitor information, such as ZIP Codes and vehicle data used to produce vehicle pricing reports, analyze the usage of the KBB Web site, and customize online advertising and promotional offers.

KBB collects personal information when you: request a Quick Dealer Price Quote, list your car for sale, or answer survey questions. We may also receive personal information from you, for example when you: respond to a research survey with a marketing research supplier such as Harris Interactive or provide personal information in Blue Book^® Value Feedback comments.

When you visit KBB pages, we may collect certain information about your visit from your browser, including the Internet Protocol (IP) address through which you access the Internet, the date and time you access the KBB Web site, the pages that you access while at the KBB Web site and the Internet address of the Web site from which you linked directly to the KBB Web site, and KBB cookie information. KBB aggregates non-specific visitor information for statistical purposes, such as the production of the KBB Blue Book Most Researched Cars list. This information is used to help improve the KBB Web site, analyze trends, and administer the site.

KBB uses your personal information for the following general purposes: to fulfill your requests for products and services, to contact you (if we have your permission), to customize the content and advertising you see, and to improve our services. KBB uses aggregate and non-personal information to conduct research and to provide reports for KBB business partners and customers.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

KBB does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies except to provide products or services you've requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:

When you elect to receive information from automobile manufacturers and local dealers and/or from KBB's valued partners (finance, insurance, etc.), KBB will share your personal information only as you have elected.

When you request a Quick Dealer Price Quote, your personal information (including your contact information) may be forwarded by KBB directly to the dealer or may be provided by KBB to an automobile manufacturer or to a trusted business partner that will forward your personal information to the dealer; your personal information may also be forwarded by KBB, the dealer, the automobile manufacturer or a trusted business partner to Experian Information Solutions, Inc., or R. L. Polk & Co., or another trusted data analysis service provider, for the purpose of verifying buyer purchase activity and reporting aggregate vehicle transaction data (excluding your personal information) to KBB, the dealer, the automobile manufacturer, or a trusted business partner.

Advertisements served by DoubleClick, a third party Internet advertising technology company, appear on pages throughout the KBB Web site. Some advertisements may request personal information directly from you or take you to Web sites that may request your personal information. KBB has no control over its advertisers' privacy policies, so please examine the privacy policy of any company advertising on the KBB Web site prior to submitting any personal information. In addition, DoubleClick or Revenue Science may place or recognize a unique cookie on your browser and may use information about your visits to the KBB Web site and other Web sites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. Please be aware that when you provide personal information to KBB and authorize KBB to share the information with a third party, your personal information becomes the property of KBB and/or the third party. KBB and/or the third party may use your personal information to process your request and provide valuable services. KBB will only share your personal information with trusted third parties under a confidentiality agreement or similar arrangement that restricts the third party from sharing your personal information with others.

If you do not want your information to be used for marketing by KBB and/or a third party, do not "opt in" or agree to such use when you provide your personal information through the KBB Web site.

Please note that whenever you opt in to receive future communications from a third party, your information will be subject to the third party's privacy policy. If you later decide that you do not want that third party to use your information, you will need to contact the third party directly, as we have no control over how third parties use information. You should always review the privacy policy of any party that collects your information to determine how that entity will handle your information.

We respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims. We may also transfer personal information about you if KBB is acquired by or merged with another company.

KBB may display targeted advertisements based on your activity on the KBB Web site or based on personal information you have provided, but KBB does not provide your personal information to the advertiser in order to display the targeted ads. KBB and third-party advertising companies note some of the pages you visit through the use of pixel tags. KBB and third-party advertising companies (which may include network advertisers) may use information (not including your name, address email address or telephone number) about your visits to this and other Web sites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. KBB Web site content is also integrated into other Web sites. These Web sites may collect personal information from their visitors that may or may not be used in conjunction with the KBB Web site content. KBB utilizes various third party service providers (including Omniture, Revenue Science, Inc., TACODA), to track and analyze non-personally identifiable aggregate usage information from visitors in order to continuously improve the quality of the KBB Web site. Cookies

KBB may set and access KBB cookies on your computer. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your hard drive by a Web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a Web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you. One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. For example, if you personalize a Web page, or navigate within a site, a cookie helps the site to recall your specific information (such as your ZIP Code) on subsequent visits. This simplifies the process of delivering relevant content, eases site navigation, and so on. When you return to the Web site, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the site's features that you customized.

KBB lets other companies, including business partners and companies that show advertisements on some of our pages, set and access their cookies on your computer. You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. Web Beacons

KBB uses Web beacons (also known as clear gif technology, or action tags) to access KBB cookies inside and outside our Web site and to collect data and allow other companies to collect data. Web beacons may be used to assist in delivering cookies on our site. This technology is a tool we may also use to compile aggregated statistics about the KBB Web site usage, such as how many visitors clicked on key elements (such as links or graphics) on a page. We may share aggregated site statistics with other companies, and we may allow other companies to place their clear gifs or cookies on our site.

KBB is a general audience site and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

KBB may occasionally update this privacy policy. When we do, we will also revise the "last updated" date at the top of the privacy policy. If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will place a prominent notice at the top of the privacy policy and you will also see the word "Updated" next to the Privacy Policy link on the front page of the KBB Web site.
