V2G (vehicle-to-grid) is an electric vehicle’s (EV) wired or wireless communications to the electrical power grid. This communication enables smart charging, such as initiating overnight vehicle charging when evening grid power demands subside. Grid-connected EVs can also be used as a power source if evening grid power demands are high. See also V2Gov, V2I, V2X, VGI, and V2V
