Commonly referred to as “drive modes,” selectable vehicle dynamics change the characteristics of the vehicle’s performance based on criteria of the driver’s choosing. The dynamics may include throttle response, transmission shifting, suspension, steering, and traction control. Selectable dynamics allow the driver to tune the vehicle to optimize fuel economy or sportiness and adjust to inclement weather or rough surfaces. See also rear suspension and torque-vectoring.
