Level 1 charging is a base standard for battery replenishment for electric vehicles (EVs). Level 1 charging happens at 120 volts of alternating current, the standard for household electrical outlets. Most EVs can accept Level 1 charging, but the charge rate is very slow. It can take up to 24 hours to fully charge a typical EV at Level 1 charging speeds. See also Level 2 charging.
