Positive Review
The 2008 Volvo v50 was one of the better Volvos I've driven. I never really had any problems with the car, other than having to fix the oil pan because of these horrible pot holes in New Orleans. The only flaw is that the tires or more expensive because only premium tires fit on it.
Critical Review
We bought our 2006 V50 from the #1 dealer in the state, with less than 50,000 miles. In one year, we had to replace faulty wheel bearings and the front driver's side spring. One of the best things about volvos in the past has been the quality of the steel they use in the construction. We are very surprised that the car has needed repairs to two solid steel parts. Our driving habits are gentle, and the roads we use are fairly new and smooth. I have had other volvos in the past, and the steel in them outlived expectations. Has anyone else out there needed a new spring in their 5 year old car? We are trying to get the dealer to take the car back.
