1995 Volkswagen Jetta III Consumer Reviews

This was my FIRST new car, purchased with Lifetime oil change package and when warranties were 10 years 100k miles! I have only replaced 1 clutch, 1 fuel pump, front windshield 2xs due to rocks hitting windshield on highway, 1 timing belt and brakes and tires as needed over these past 24 years! Great Car, minimal Maint and no accidents! I did just have a front door lock issue but after all these years of using the door that would be expected. I was even an outside Sales Rep driving a ton of miles each day for several years. I bought my car and use it as my daily run-about and my mechanic says this car has been a truly good car for me. I thought back in 2003 that I would get another car another bigger VW in case my Jetta ever decided to quit...bought a then new 2003 Passat which I use for long road trips or late at night and it has just hit 89,900k as I still prefer my First new car my VW Jetta Celebration lll! My Jetta is still great on fuel, rides great, looks great and I enjoy driving it!

It's a car that needs a lot of TLC! The car will run great once you get all the bugs out of it. I would like to tell you about the flaws first. The speakers will need to be rewired after a while! The car will eat front tires like they are nothing! The car will have a lot of parts once it reaches the half way mark of it life! The car is a real pain to work on! Unless you have small hands and a lot of time and can stand to be in tight spots! The car isn't really bad on oil until it need a oil change! It takes a lot of water to! Now for the good in the car! The car has sound system like a newer model car! The car is very simple. You will get everything down for it in not time. But over all it's a good car. You just need to take time with it.

The hardest thing about this car is the cost of parts. Everything is 2-5x the cost of American cars to replace and it's just not worth it!

My car is actually a '92 model. More boxier. I bought this car when I was 16 as my first car, it only had 75k miles at the time. I've been on a lot of road trips through rain, snow, ice, dust storms and the car never let me down. It's a comfrontable ride and smooth. Make corners with ease. Sadly the motor is starting to give out, which mean about to get a new one for it, I'm never trading this car in. Love it!!

this car has been trouble free. it drives well, gets good milage (32mpg), and still looks pretty good. i would recommend this car.

VW's reliability matched with reasonable maintenance cannot be beat. I just love European handling and engineering. Corners great. Acceleration around 45mph could be better though (w/ automatic tranny). Overall a great car.

This car is really fun great for young adults/kids I my self learnt how to drive a manual transmission with this car and now i have gotten pretty good and the car is still running great.
