Positive Review
I had this van for over 150.000 trouble free miles. Took it across several states and to Canada several times. 22 mph average. Perfect cruising van.Perfect camping van. Perfect size, not too small or too big even for using as a every day van. I wish VW would still make it. There is nothing to replace it with nowadays

westfalia weekender. great for travel
Interior room, Highway ride, MPG, Reliability
Stock A/C weak, Front tire life, 2 windows open.
I bought the Eurovan new and used it primarily for kid hauling to and from sports/school events and vacations. It's great for seven plus baggage for a week at the beach. A great hauler of just about anything. 18-20 MPG really helps, too. I had to look far and long to find a 5-speed. Only a leaking clutch cylinder ever stopped it in its tracks. Lots of VW places support it for maintenance. The majority of the '93 Eurovans were a dark burgundy color; hot in the US South. Only the driver and front passenger windows open. Front and back A/C takes a while to cool off this big boxy interior. A/C cooling fan mod helped greatly. New light color paint helped, too. The torquey 110Hp 5-cylinder engine with FWD is a vast improvement over the rear waterboxer of the Vanagon and earlier air cooled van engines.
I LOVE this car. We have had it for almost a year and want to get a newer version, just get tired of the window cranks and regular locks. : )
We've had our Eurovan for 16 yrs. now and love the room, tall seats (we're all long legged people), manual transmission and the fact that we still get 20 mpg on the road even though it's this old. Wish we could still get these in the US!!!
wouldn't trade for nothing love it wife loves kids love and i get 350-370 to a tank of gas
This van is teriffic. A great long distance ride, and a fantastic camping van. I received mine as a gift from family, and have enjoyed every moment of it. Yes, VW's are expensive to maintain, and this one, especially due to its unusualness, is no exception. But the quality of workmanship, and the functionality of features, is a world above what you might find on any Hondas, Toyotas, or Chevys. Plus, you get tons of fun stares from other people on the road when they see your weird looking van coming down the street.
