Positive Review
First off with the negative(s): -- its an electric with only 80 miles range -- this makes it pretty much only a commuter car for around town and short trips. Next the positives: -- its electric! -- instant torque at any RPM -- because the battery weight is low it corners like a go-cart -- its super quiet (no gas engine) -- its super smooth (no gas engine with narrow torque band) -- no trips to smelly gas station (no gas engine) -- low maintenance costs (see below) -- inexpensive to drive (over 100 MPG equivalent), and you can often find free charging -- we live on a hill and most of the energy we lose going up comes back to us going down -- cruise control works even downhill (while adding charge to your battery at the same time) -- single pedal driving means you seldom have to use the brakes (down on the gas pedal to go faster, up on gas pedal to slow down); this is super fun to use on twisty mountain roads. What it doesnt have (and you wont miss): -- muffler, engine noise, rumbling, shaking, oil changes, transmission, spark plugs, valves, pistons, crankshaft, ... -- the lack of so many complicated devices means they never have to be fixed or replaced

no gas stations ever! Agile, fun to drive, high quality
My AC died
It's agile, speedy and quiet and has excellent handling, and when you pull the door shut it makes a heavy quality THUNK sound. You feel the VW quality. It's made so well. It drives so nicely. I am happy every time I drive this car around!!! beautiful blue color, wonderful heated seats, back seats fold flat for moving big stuff, and the hatchback is easy to open and surprisingly holds a massive amount of groceries. Best thing about this car: It plugs in! I never have to use the highway chargers because I just plug it in when I get home. I haven't been to a gas station in years! Range is 126 officially but in the Summer with no windshield wipers working I can get 145 from its range. In the Winter it takes a little more electric to run, so range is slightly lower. It also depends how you drive and whether you want to recoup miles with using the engine to break. It's a totally different way to drive. I get more range when driving back roads, and on back roads I can sometimes not use many miles of range because I recoup miles with breaking and going down hills. I have a short commute but I sometimes drive to the city (at least an hour's drive)/50 miles or so) and I can get there and back without charging. If I do need to take a longer drive, there are super chargers on highways that take 15 minutes, and there are chargers that are lower level chargers other places, which take more time. You can find these on an app, and some charging is free! I have not noticed any uptick in my electric bill since Ive owned the car. We didnt even upgrade our electric. We use normal electrical outlets to plug it in, and just plug it in when it needs a charge. It's a slow charge at home, but plugging it in overnight is almost a full charge. Such a great car.
Dynamic headlights, great navigation
Nothing
E-golf looks like a regular car but faster, can go 130 miles per charge. Charges in 4 hr. Cabin is quieter than tesla. Smart car. Lots of great features: 2 screens, self parking, heated seats, line keep, emergency braking, dynamic headlights, auto high beams. Car can be charged on a super charger - 45 min to 90%.
Sporty, snappy, Android Auto or Carplay capable
Trip scheduling unreliable; 3G unsupported now.
Have loved this vehicle since I bought it in 2020. My only complaint about it is that the "next departure" feature seems to be unreliable (sometimes doesn't turn on the environmental controls). Literally everything else about this vehicle is awesome. The range isn't stellar, but it's fine for the price and makes it capable of road trips if you plan ahead a little. As with any EV, plugshare and abetterrouteplanner are your friends here. Snappy handling, low stance, and all of the other things that are great about the Golf apply here. Have fun!
Very economical; fun to drive line petrol Golf
None
Purchased this E-Golf 2 months ago. Great car for around town driving. Not an over the road vehicle with limited range (125-130 miles per charge). We use as second car for local jaunts. SEL Premium trim is outstanding. Heated seats/mirrors, adaptive cruise, blind spot monitoring, sensors all around, great backup camera. We charge on 110V and electric use is negligible on monthly bill.
Fun to drive, quiet, smooth, reliable, zippy
None really but longer range would be preferred
Great styling (if understated), very comfortable, great interior, excellent visibility, superb rear-view camera. All switches and controls nicely laid out. Extremely easy to maneuver, very smooth velvety ride. Solid build quality, tight and precise fit. Practically maintenance free. Beyond great value. Absolutely love it.
Great commuter, comfortable, versatile, reliable
Range is on the shorter side so not for long trips
I have not had to do one thing on this car for maintenance. I have the Premium so it can quick charge and is very comfortable.
Just enough range. High quality finishes. Quick.
Not suited for long trips.
I gave up on a Ford Focus ST because of uncomfortable seats. VW was clearing out inventory of the 2019 e-Golfs and offered a price so low that after federal and state incentives the net price was less than I could sell the ST for. Further more I figured I could sell the e-Golf in 2 or 3 years for my net investment. The seats in the e-Golf are comfortable. The 125 mile range is sufficient for me (I drive about 6,000 mi per year). If I have a 200 mile round trip occasionally I can get enough juice to get home with 15 or 20 minutes on a DC fast charger. If we take a long trip we take my wife's hybrid. I was worried at first about range, but it really hasn't been an issue. I love the electronics. Apple Car Play and Android Auto are great. I like that I can pull back on the shift handle to toggle between coasting and regen braking when I take my foot from the accelerator. Quality and fit and finish have been excellent except for a door handle and a charge port cover which fell off and were replaced under warranty. I thought I would miss the performance of the Focus ST but the E-Golf accelerates quite quickly.
0 emission and no gas bills. Drives real smooth.
Need fast chargers
Car is excellent although not gorgeous and latest tech design but great to move around. Not for long distance travel. No gas bills and drives beautifully. Best car ever if one is not particular about looks. Real sporty feel.
