My dad bought this car in 1999 for $9800 with 32,000 miles. It has had no engine problems and now it has been given to me with 400000 miles and still going strong. If there is one flaw with this car it is the door handles. They tend to break once in a while but not to big of a prob. I love this car and would probably never get rid of it. Just been repainted to restore it to factory looks.

Second Toyota I have had that burned oil. Drives alright. Its a 'you get what you pay for' kind of deal.

Road noise, uncomfortable AFTER 2 hrs of driving.
Got this little car back in September 2023, with 240,000 for $2,000. Needed a reliable commuter for work. Never once gave up, just recently at 248,000 I put in a new clutch, new fly wheel, new rear main seal & new brakes all around. Oil changed at every 3,000. Amazing little vehicle, I honestly recommend it. I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it NOW from coast to coast.
Great on gas , it’s super reliable and got me from Las Vegas to Victorville plenty of times with no issues ! Great car to get you from A to B

I have a 1997 Tercel I bought brand new in Clearwater Fl. Right off the show room floor I paid about 13.599 for it I have to say it’s a smooth driving car that cruises on the Highway at 100 mp with no problems. I’ve replaced the struts,one cv boot and brakes all the way around,oil change every 3000 miles and that’s it .
Great car for just driving the heck out of. Very reliable, great gas mileage.

Purchased my Toyota 10+ years ago (gently used - had 21,000 miles on it at time of purchase). Loved this car! Best value out there! The MPG was wonderful! Just routine maintenance needed. My 4 cyl. standard had get up & go! Real pep! Just ask any of our local law enforcement. Lol. It was a very sad day earlier this month, it was totaled in an accident (at highway speeds 60+). That car kept me unbelievably safe! My chiropractor could not tell I was even in an accident! I will miss my "Rally Kar" tremendously! Already do!They don't make them like this anymore. ~God will provide

I got this car on july of 2000 a 1997 tercel blackhawk 2door model with 25000miles, I used this car to my 2 jobs for 5 years its so great 35 to 40 miles a Gallon on the hwy. On 2005 my sister take over my tercel she used it for 2 years to her job. On 2007 my brother take over my tercel for his college and partime job. On 2011 me and my brother drive this car from los angeles to espanola NM 850 miles to turn over this car to my uncle, until now 2016 talk my uncle he said that the tercel is still running good. This car serves my family well.
