The revamped 2021 Sienna missed the mark for the minivan market. It seems Toyota was trying to turn the look of the Sienna into one of their SUVs. What they appear to not realize is that people who are willing to buy a minivan have already come to grips with the fact that they are going to be driving a minivan. Toyota decreased interior cargo space by lowering the roof and canting in the sides. What is the point of the minivan if you're going to decrease the interior volume? The center bridge console also doesn't do anything for me...it makes it more awkward in the front, and feels more cramped. The biggest change for the worse is the ground clearance. We drive a 2014 Sienna and took it over roads and potholes that only full size trucks and SUVs could make it over. I'm hesitant to believe that the new, lower Sienna would perform as well. Unfortunately, the Sienna is only minivan on the market in AWD. So, for now, we are stuck with the Sienna. I just hope that they are able to fix these issues soon...or Honda decides to make the Odyssey in AWD.

I currently own 2 Sienna (2004 and 2017). Love them both in different ways. I am 70 years old and wanted to buy one more new sienna before moving on. We decided to wait for the newly styled 2021. Once they were released in late 2020, I found out they were hybrid only. I personally was disappointed in that option as I still wanted a new version of my 2017. If Toyota would have announced ahead of time, I would have bought a new 2020 which by now are gone. Last week we decided to go look at the 2021. Got the keys, opened the door to get and hit my head on the roof line. I thought what the "F". Lowered the seat, put back all the way. Re-entered the car and hit the roof line again. Only way in is to tilt your head down before entering. That sucks. I am 6 foot tall. Once in, I felt confided. The middle bridge is weird. Noticed the 2 glove boxes are gone which we used all the time. I really can't comment on it after that as I never test drove it due to the fact I could not easily get in the car. I believe Toyota limited the market here.

I would not recommend this vehicle. After owning it for 3 months, a safety recall was issued. I'm unable to drive it because the 2nd row could come loose in a crash. I've reached out to Toyota, and they refuse to help.
Just drove mine across the country! I love it! Smooth ride, comfortable seats, tons of space! I often get over 40 miles per gallon with this hybrid minivan. I usually turn off the lane assist in any car that I drive because it takes over, but the cruise control with the auto adjustment has been fantastic. Plus I love the parking sensors.
I'm a 5ft 11in disabled Marine Veteran and have many bodily flaws. I can't walk like normal and I have a neuromuscular disease causing weakness in major muscle groups. I don't drive so I'm stuck with passenger seat. Toyota redesigned the interior and removed the grab handle that was mounted along the outside of the windshield. They put a hand hold above your head. Great that sucks! Every in and out of the passenger seat is a real struggle. It never dawned on me in the try outs how bad this was. Yup great gas mileage. 1st 500 miles we're up to over 33. Woohoo. Passenger seat access really sucks. Passenger seat is also jacked up about 4 inches. Making entry even more difficult. I'm looking for a fix but so far nothing.

Safety systems and everything electronic which is a lot
The vehicle specs speak for themself. It has more room than basically a Chevy Suburban, good layout, dead quiet inside and great for road trips or hauling around a crew of kids. You can read the specs, it's a great vehicle on paper in basically every category for what it is. Certainly, it's lacking a bit of power compared to a SUV, but it's not a slouch on power and performs well under every circumstance we've thrown at it. We have the AWD version as well and it's great in the rain or snow and on reasonable dirt roads, it's obviously not a jeep. However, the electronics and particularly the safety systems on it, are so insanely bad, I'd reconsider it as an option entirely. There is literally no electronic system that isn't annoying at the least, or unusable, or dangerous at the worst. The auto braking feature has almost killed us 5 times now, literally almost killed us, and that's not how many times it's just decided to engage, those are just the times where we were put into significant danger when it decided to. It will just stall out when making a turn and then you're stuck in the middle of the road for like 5 seconds before it allows you to accelerate again. With 45 - 60 mph speed limits around here on normal roads, sitting sideways in a lane for 5 seconds is just not ok, and while I can disable it temporarily, Toyota refuses to do it permanently. I am certain the auto braking has killed people already, 100% certain. We're super careful drivers and in just 1 year, we've had 5 really close calls and many more where there were zero cars around or in a parking lot and it just locks up violently to protect us from the wind or something. Other electronics are just insanely annoying, like there's no way to silence the seat belt alarm, at all, it's insanely loud and will never stop. Van won't move if the rear sliding doors are open, at all. The auto door and trunk opening features are so difficult to use, they're effectively useless. The auto lane feature for cruise control is dangerous and cruise control shuts off entirely if you take your hands off the wheel, you could be in the middle of a turn and it will just shut off and drive you off the road at full speed. The sensors are also slower than a windows pc from 1990, it detects things seconds after they are gone, person rides a bike behind the vehicle and it beeps after they're out of the frame. Wow, so helpful... I would also add, everything tries to get you back into a Toyota dealership for anything, wiper fluid low, visit your Toyota dealership, needs oil change, well that message is more important than the speedometer and stereo, go visit a toyota dealership. Meanwhile we still haven't been able to get another key fob because somehow Toyota was and is always out of them and they need hours to make a key that was supposed to come with the vehicle, color me surprised that they just want us to come in so they can try and sell us toyota care or some other recurring fee for a vehicle we already own. I could go on for several pages but these are some of the fun ones that come with this disaster, they do not end though. If it's electronic, it's bad. We love the platform, ours at least hasn't had issues like some of the real lemon stories I've heard. It has plenty of power, tons of storage room and seating and it's easy to move stuff around. It tows ok for the engine size. The gas mileage is excellent for a vehicle this large, we still get over 30 mpg with this thing loaded down. They just ruined a great vehicle platform with totally awful electronics, and they are so awful, that I wouldn't buy this vehicle again. I doubted my family, but they all purged themselves of their toyota trucks and suv's for the same reason, I didn't believe them, I wish I had.

Had it for a year with 16K, happy with my purchase. Great design, especially the driver's area, very spacious and ergonomic, great looking, practicality, no fancy technology, jusy reliable hard button for HVAC and all sorts of functions, I hope this will last forever. The quality is just average Toyota quality, but the 8 speakers system is just surprisingly good! I love the convenience of remote controled door and touch less function, but Toyota is very good very their sales strategy, these functions are only available with xle and upper, not the LE, which is okay, but the basic trim is not cheap, so please upgrade some premium functions for entry level owners! And TSS3.0 at least. The hybrid system is great, very fuel efficient. Only complaint is that sometime the breaks will randomly perform if I passed a curved road towards a stop. Highway engine sound is way too harsh, and wind moise is just too much. Overall it's a better choice over other brand due to it's reliability, resell value.
Hybrid, moonroof, tan interior, lowered floor for higher interior room, both front seats are removable and the EZ lock system is under the passenger seat. The electric wheelchair can come with the van, it is a F3 Permobile top of the line that has the bolt for the lock, it also raises and lowers. The van also has the kneeling system to make it easier and safer to enter and exit. It also has the safety features for the wheelchair. Both side doors are electric sliding. It has rear air/heat. The rear Hatch is touch button to open and close. The doors and rear can be opened and closed with the remote or inside buttons. PASSENGER front door has control buttons for the auto ramp. This is not all the options it has and it is top of the line, very clean and maintained.
