2026 Toyota Camry Consumer Reviews

Hybrid system malfunction, check engine light is on. Freezing temperatures, this car is having difficulties. Not sure what to do? I, called toyota service and they said to unplug my vehicle battery for about a a half hr or so. I replied, I'm not a mechanic and this car is under warranty. They said if this is the problem and they fix it they will do a service charge fee. So, it seems toyota doesn't even want to honor the warranty on their vehicles. I, had the car towed back to them and talked to the manager and made my complaint. Basically, they didn't care to listen to me. My vehicle was in the shop all day for just a new car battery. Clearly it was a defective battery so no charge for the repair. The fact is they treated me like I'm stupid or something.

Not thrilled.. I, wouldn't even consider buying this toyota camry. The handling was like driving a go-kart. Stiff suspension, stiff seats and sitting to low to the ground. I, noticed a few other things as well. Road noise, cabin noise, engine hybrid system. Possibly the transmission sound. I, did notice the stiff shift in second gear. Auto payments on this car and interest rates are way to high. I'm sure the auto insurance is expensive. "No thanks"

This car was a temporary rental. Here's our story about it. This car broke down on us on the freeway heading to california. Some kind of clunking noise underneath the car started happening and the vehicle check engine light comes on. Couldn't get this car to drive in gear. Not sure what was the problem, the rental company had the vehicle towed and got us in another car. Very disappointed, and now reading the reviews about these camry hybrid vehicles I wouldn't ever consider buying one. Worst experience ever being stranded.

It's not a good vehicle as a daily driver in the cold winter season. Traction is terrible, ride height is to low. The hybrid system doesn't like below temperatures. I, had to many problems already being addressed for repairs including the recalls. Seats are not comfortable, and the stereo has strange things going on with it.

This toyota camry hybrid went into limp mode, no power. I, was stuck trying to push this car to the side of the road. It was towed back to the service department. The high voltage HV system was the problem. Here's another picture of the problem, reliability!! These camry vehicles are not built well.. I, can't keep up with these continuous service repairs as this is my only vehicle. Time to find a different vehicle again.

Toyota is full of shi- and they know it. They are paying hush money to these pretend expert review to make it sound like a good vehicle..KBB, JD power is full of shi- as well. The camry hybrid sucks, tacoma hybrid sucks, thundra sucks. This is very true!! A very large amount of recalled toyota vehicles.

Overpriced pile of scrap metal.. It's a oversized lemon. Recalls of glory!! This vehicle is not even fun to drive. The interior is very cheap, hard rock seats like the flintstones lol. Stereo sucks, just a tablet on the dashboard. Transmission noise, squeaky brake pads. Value deprecating pretty fast for being a new junker car.

2025/2026 Over a 55k Toyota camry hybrids are facing recalls. Transmission to Transaxle bolt they claim. Inverter defect serious fire risk of crash or injury. Squeaky brakes, pivots on windshield could cause cracks. Battery hybrid system not holding correct voltage. These vehicles are terrible and definitely not worth getting involved. Higher cost for auto insurance as well.
