Brake lines are hoses that transfer brake fluid from a reservoir through a pump or modulator to a brake master cylinder to create hydraulic pressure to push the brake pads against the disc rotor or drum brake, slowing or stopping the vehicle. If the brake fluid becomes depleted or air enters the brake lines, the brake response can weaken and the brake lines will need to be bled or flushed. Hire a certified mechanic to perform this service, as special equipment is often required.

An alternator replacement is a physical action on an engine component, removing it and putting in a new or reconditioned unit to take its place and perform its function. The alternator is the belt-driven unit that charges the 12-volt battery as the engine runs. If you’re having trouble starting your car, you may need an alternator replacement. A malfunctioning alternator can cause underperforming lights, instruments, accessories, and a dead battery.

Dielectric grease is a silicone-based lubricant applied to electrical contact points to insulate against moisture and corrosion, overheating, and debris.

Brake rotors, also known as brake discs, are part of a disc brake system. Made of metal or ceramic materials, the discs rotate with the wheels. A caliper fits on the edge of the rotor, with pistons that push brake pads against the rotor to slow its rotation through friction.

Properly operating brakes enhance safety, and are an essential feature for any vehicle. A complete brake system consists of many parts, some of which are engineered to last the life of your car and only need attention when damaged or worn due to unusual circumstances. However, discs, pads, and shoes are considered wear items and need to be inspected and reconditioned or replaced following a maintenance schedule.

Premium paint is an available upgrade on almost every new car. Each manufacturer defines “premium paint” in its own way. Typically, premium paint is a signature color other than black, white, grey, or silver or paint with metal flakes or sparkles.

Premium wheels are usually an upgrade from the standard wheels that come with a new vehicle. The premium wheels may be made from higher-quality materials than the standard wheels, have different styling characteristics, or both.
