The 2025 Volvo EX90 is a straightforward proposition: Lots of style, lots of safety, 310 miles of range, all-wheel drive (AWD), brisk performance, and premium materials. It also comes with a price tag to match, which narrows its potential target market substantially, going from just about everyone to only those who can afford a vehicle that starts at more than $80,000. That said, it’s a relative value against its competitive set, coming in several thousand dollars below the BMW iX and Tesla Model X, but about on par with the Mercedes-EQ EQE SUV.
Very similar in appearance and function to the familiar XC90 SUV, the all-new, all-electric EX90 is the first generation. It’s a luxurious 3-row midsize SUV with an eye toward suburban comfort and practicality rather than off-road prowess or boat-towing excess. The second row is reasonably roomy, with 36.5 inches of legroom, but the third row is a bit more snug, yet still not small, at 31.9 inches. There’s up to 75.4 cubic feet of max cargo space and 13.6 cubic feet behind the third row, based on a seating configuration for six or seven.
