Our 3 Favorite Things About the 2026 Chevrolet Trax

2026 Chevrolet Trax Red

The subcompact SUV segment is more competitive than ever, but the segment’s best-selling 2026 Chevrolet Trax continues to make a strong case for itself. Taking inspiration from its larger sibling, the Chevy Blazer, makes it easy to love with a sporty look and athletic proportions while retaining its practicality.

Beyond its eye-catching designs, the Trax delivers qualities that SUV shoppers prioritize: an affordable price, a spacious cabin, and comfortable ride quality perfect for commuting and family trips. It stands tall against popular rivals like the Honda HR-V and Subaru Crosstrek.

Here’s a look at our three favorite things that make the 2026 Chevy Trax a practical choice.

1. Intuitive Safety Features

Whether you’re taking your kids to school or simply running daily errands, you can have peace of mind knowing your affordable car has modern safety tech features. It comes standard with Chevy Safety Assist, which includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and pedestrian detection. It also features lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, high-beam assist, and a following-distance indicator. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) awarded the Trax an overall safety score of 4 out of 5 stars. If you’re interested in adding on more safety features, the Trax has a Driver Confidence Package with blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and lane-change alert.

2. Modern Technology

The Trax’s starting sticker price is impressive, but even better, we appreciate that Chevrolet counted the costs and included modern technology that improve your ride experience. The Trax comes standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which are ideal for navigating new spaces with your preferred navigation app or simply for listening to your favorite music and podcasts. Since it’s wireless, it all happens without taking your phone out of your pocket or purse.

3. Value Pricing

Starting at $23,495, the Chevy Trax is America’s second-most affordable new car. The only car that’s cheaper is the Hyundai Venue, which is quite a bit smaller than the Trax. Even as you go up the trim ladder, the LT and 1RS trims start at $24,995, and the top 2RS and Activ trims begin at $27,195. That means you can go up to a nicer trim with more features while keeping the price well below the $30K mark. With affordable pricing, above-average resale value, and reasonable fuel costs, the Trax is simply one of the strongest values in new cars.
