The 2026 Nissan Pathfinder gets a welcome mid-cycle refresh that helps keep it competitive against modern rivals with recent redesigns. The Pathfinder has been in the same generation since 2022, but this year’s update refreshes its design and technology, keeping it a compelling choice for families looking for a practical and reasonably affordable 3-row SUV.
Here (in alphabetical order) are some of our favorite features and technologies in the updated 2026 Nissan Pathfinder.
1. Invisible Hood View

This camera view allows the driver to see “through” the Pathfinder’s hood and engine bay. This obviously comes in handy when driving off-road to avoid obstacles, but we know most Pathfinder SUVs will spend most of their time on dry pavement. In addition to the off-road benefits, this feature makes it easier to navigate tight spaces, such as car washes and drive-through lanes, without damaging your wheels. A similar feature is available on more expensive SUVs from brands like Lexus and Land Rover, so it’s nice to see it on this reasonably priced Nissan.
2. Latch and Glide Seats

Many midsize 3-row SUVs have some form of tilting and sliding second-row captain’s chairs, but the ones in the Nissan Pathfinder are among our favorites. With a single touch, the middle-row seats release, fold forward, and slide to allow easy access to the third row. We’ve tested this feature with child car seats installed and real-life children installed in all three rows, and can confirm that it works well for family-hauling duties.
3. ProPILOT Assist

ProPILOT Assist is Nissan’s semi-autonomous highway driving system that combines adaptive cruise control with steering assistance, allowing the Pathfinder to accelerate, steer, and brake itself under certain conditions. You still need to keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road, but it’s a natural-feeling system that’s the next best thing to the hands-free tech found in some of its rivals. The feature comes standard on the SV trim and up.
4. Rock Creek Edition

The rugged Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek Edition is more than just a macho appearance package; it comes with real mechanical improvements that make it the best off-roader in this SUV’s lineup. It has an enhanced version of the V6 that powers every Pathfinder, making 295 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque, plus standard all-wheel drive (AWD), an off-road suspension system, extra ground clearance, and all-terrain tires. The Rock Creek appearance package adds a distinct front fascia, LED fog lights, and a tubular roof rack. Its interior boasts Lava Red leatherette seats with unique stitching and embroidery.
5. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay

The Pathfinder used to have an odd arrangement for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay availability, but for 2026 these features come standard with wireless functionality across every trim. Previously, wired smartphone connectivity was standard, and wireless CarPlay only came in the SL and Platinum trims. Meanwhile, wireless Android Auto wasn’t available at all. Having both come standard and wireless across the board means it’s easy to bring your maps, music, and more to the 12.3-inch infotainment screen without having to take your phone out of your purse or pocket.
