The 2025 Nissan Murano is a midsize 2-row SUV that puts comfort and serenity above off-road capability and rugged styling. It’s refreshing that there’s a new SUV with no delusions of being an adventurous off-roader. This is a practical vehicle for drivers who know they’ll rarely — if ever — venture off the pavement, although most trims come standard with all-wheel drive (AWD) for when road conditions get dicey. To wit, the Murano has comfortable seats, upscale amenities, and generous interior space with adult-friendly back seats and enough cargo room for most singles, empty-nesters, or small families. Given its price point, it’s a midsize SUV for anyone who has a budget for something a little nicer and roomier than a compact SUV, but more affordable than something from a prestigious luxury brand.
The Nissan Murano enters an all-new generation for 2025. It sticks to the nameplate’s formula that it forged when it first came out in 2003 as something on the more premium side of midsize SUVs from mainstream brands. But it introduces what Nissan calls a “spa-like” interior, a new turbocharged engine, dual 12.3-inch displays, and available options that include built-in Google Maps and Google Assistant, semi-aniline massaging leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, a Bose premium audio system, and even the Calm meditation and relaxation app. You get the idea; the Murano is a soothing sanctuary on four wheels meant to safely transport its occupants in comfort and style.
