The full-size SUV market is laden with impressive vehicles, forcing some of the also-rans to put up or shut up to remain viable. Nissan’s done that with its revamp of the 2025 Nissan Armada.
Nissan designers clearly understood the assignment, giving the exterior a more modern look, amping up the power under the hood, upping the technology game, and most importantly here, moving the interior upmarket. With five trim levels — SV, SL, Platinum, Pro-4X, and Platinum Reserve — there’s a price point for anyone in the market for a big SUV.
Let’s check out what the Nissan Armada offers inside.
Passenger Room and Comfort
Space is clearly the biggest consideration when looking at full-size SUVs. Nissan addressed that in the redesign by creating a larger cabin for people and things. More legroom in all three rows than its predecessor is a good start, although it still lags competitors like the Chevrolet Tahoe, Ford Explorer, and Jeep Wagoneer.
That said, it’s clear Nissan is looking to make the Armada a nice place to be on long drives or even running errands around town. The first row can be had with heated and cooled seats. Move to the top trim, and front seats add 12-way power-adjustable seats with a massaging function. Second-row occupants aren’t left out in the cold, just the opposite, with available heated seats for the middle riders. Plus, if you’re looking to make sure you don’t get parched while driving, there are eight cup holders and four bottle holders.
Features and Tech
Can’t tell the world it’s all-new if you don’t give the available technology an upgrade, both functionally and aesthetically. Nissan didn’t miss the mark here. The 2025 Armada features dual 12.3-inch displays, although the infotainment touchscreen grows to 14.3 inches in the top three trim levels.
Once you move past the base SV model, Google built-in becomes standard equipment, giving you access to Google Maps, Assistant, and the Play Store without the need for a smartphone. If you do have a smartphone handy, you can tap into wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto for all of your infotainment needs. If you’re looking to be entertained, the Armada can be upgraded to include a Klipsch premium audio system. With 12 speakers, including a DualPower subwoofer, the 600-watt system brings impressive sound to the cabin.
Not only does it sound like a concert hall, but the Armada also features a raft of advanced driver assistance technology to help you drive well. There are three levels of this technology, including ProPILOT Assist, which is standard on the SV and Pro-4X variants. Move up to the SL, Platinum, or Platinum Reserve, and ProPILOT Assist 1.1 becomes standard. It uses navigation information to proactively adjust vehicle speed for curves and interchanges.
Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard across all grades and includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, High Beam Assist, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Automatic Braking, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, plus Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention, and Intelligent Lane Intervention.
Materials and Design
Full-size SUVs seem to be getting more well-appointed and luxurious on the inside, and Nissan made sure the Armada keeps pace with the competition. The base model comes equipped with leatherette seats, including power seats up front. Moving up to the SL package means an upgrade to Nissan’s TailorFit leatherette seats.
However, if you move up to higher trims premium options abound, including open pore wood finishing, 64-color ambient lighting, quilted leather seats with massage functions for the front seats.
At the top trim level, you get luxuries like heated, power-reclining third-row seats, a second-row center console, and what Nissan calls Biometric Cooling, which can detect overheated passengers in the first and second rows and direct more cool air toward them.
Cargo Room and Flexibility
Climb behind the wheel of the Armada, and you pilot a vehicle that can carry just about anything. There is 20.4 cubic feet of space behind the third row. If you fold down the third row, it increases to 56.3 cubic feet. With both rows down, it jumps to 97.1 cubic feet.
However, with a 40/20/40-split bench seat or two captain’s chairs, plus a 60/40 third row, you can mix and match to carry longer objects while still hauling as many as five people instead of eight. An available power liftgate (SL and higher) and motion-activated liftgate (Platinum and higher) make access to the cargo area simpler.
