Considering an efficient alternative to all the crossover SUVs out there? The 2025 Honda Accord Hybrid competes in a narrowing yet competitive class of efficient, stylish midsize sedans that includes the Toyota Camry and Hyundai Sonata. The Accord Hybrid uses a 204-horsepower hybrid 4-cylinder engine and a direct-drive automatic transmission that, in the EX-L trim with 17-inch wheels, nets 48 mpg combined. The three other trims roll on 19-inch wheels, lowering its rating to 44 mpg combined. Unlike the Camry, it only comes with front-wheel drive (FWD). Also, unlike the Camry and the Sonata Hybrid, the Accord Hybrid’s power delivery is so smooth that the two propulsion sources seem as if they are one.
Redesigned for 2023 and now accounting for more than half of all Accord sales, the 2025 Accord Hybrid adds a few more standard features this year to justify its relatively higher price. It starts at $34,805 versus $30,295 for the 2026 Sonata Hybrid and $30,195 for the 2026 Toyota Camry. Heated front seats and wireless device charging come standard on the Accord Hybrid, and rear passengers now get their own A/C vents as well as a pair of USB-C ports.
The Accord Hybrid stands out from rivals with its fastback style and roomy interior. Here’s a look inside.
Accord Hybrid Passenger Room and Comfort
Since Honda positions the Accord Hybrid as a premium offering over the standard Accord — which is reflected in its price — the interior comes with a power driver’s seat even on the base Sport model. Its rivals do not. It’s the little things, and those little things are heated seats for both front occupants. The stylish design of the Accord Hybrid might crimp the style of tall passengers in the rear seat because the roofline curves down. The Camry and Sonata offer more headroom in the front and rear, but the Accord excels in legroom, with 40.8 inches of space available in the rear. That’s the roomiest in the segment.
Accord Hybrid Cargo Room and Flexibility
The Accord Hybrid boasts the largest trunk space in its segment, measuring 16.7 cubic feet. The trunk opening is wide and has a low enough bottom to ease loading and unloading gear. Those four adult passengers could each bring two carry-on-sized suitcases. Without rear passengers, you can fold the 60/40-split rear seats to expand the trunk space into the seating area, accommodating longer, bulkier items.
Accord Hybrid Features and Tech
Even the base Sport is equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen mounted in the center of the dash. The icons can be a little small and cramped, as is the volume knob, but we appreciate having real buttons for climate control. Other standard features, in addition to heated front seats and wireless device charging, include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Standard driver-assist features encompass a wide range and include adaptive cruise control.
Accord Hybrid Materials and Design
Since Honda positions the Accord Hybrid as a higher-end trim level than non-hybrid Accord models, it finishes it with a moonroof, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift knob, and dual-zone climate control as standard, in addition to the kit listed above. The metallic mesh covering the vents has become a new design staple in Honda’s stable, to good effect. There’s nothing too dazzling about the Accord Hybrid, even on top Touring trims that come with leather-trimmed upholstery, Bose audio, a heated steering wheel, and a head-up display, but overall it’s a smart, attractive package.
