Following its debut last year, the 2026 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid enters its second model year with new features across all three trims. This hybrid delivers rugged yet refined power with an impressive fuel economy of 38 mpg in combined city/highway driving.
Starting at $36,245, the 2026 CX-50 Hybrid offers standard features not often found in other compact SUVs. Mazda excels in punching above its weight when it comes to interior materials and trim finishes. Although the base model comes nicely equipped, those seeking a bit more will be pleased with what the Hybrid Premium Plus top trim has to offer. It starts at $41,945, including the destination fee. Here are some highlights.

Now, let’s dive into some of our favorite features.
Powerful Drive

The 2026 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid employs a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and 3-motor hybrid system that produces 219 hp. This improves significantly over its gas-only counterpart, which produces 187 hp. Every hybrid trim offers Power and Trail modes, along with standard all-wheel drive (AWD) for more grip.
Additionally, the Premium Plus trim features 19-inch wheels. Lower trims get 17-inch wheels.
Premium Design

Mazda’s design choices elevate its vehicles to feel on par with more luxurious options. The CX-50 Hybrid delivers with its athletic build and sleek black body cladding. We think exterior paint options like “Soul Red Crystal Metallic” or “Ingot Blue Metallic” are fun, standout colors. Note that every color except Jet Black Mica and Ingot Blue cost an extra $595, even on the highest trim level.
The Premium Plus trim also offers standard leather upholstery in either black or a sophisticated red, which is a unique and pleasing color that provides an upscale feel. According to Mazda, the stitching design on the seats draws inspiration from hiking boots, serving as a fun callback to the CX-50’s adventurous nature.
Forward Features

While every CX-50 Hybrid connects seamlessly with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the Premium Plus trim adds tech and comfort luxuries to enhance your driving or riding experience. Drivers will appreciate the standard head-up display (which Mazda calls Active Driving Display), an adaptive front-lighting system, a heated steering wheel, and power-adjustable front seats. In addition to heated and ventilated front seats, the Premium Plus treats rear passengers to heated rear seats.
