Let’s Take a Look Inside the 2026 Honda CR-V

2026 Honda CR-V TrailSport

The results of decades of incremental refinement and improvement, the 2026 Honda CR-V is an all-around excellent vehicle, and a benchmark in its class. It’s also Honda’s best-selling model, in part because it’s so well-rounded it’s appealing to just about everyone on some level. It’s roomy, practical, efficient, relatively affordable, and easy to drive.

For 2026, the CR-V gets some welcome updates, mostly focused on upgraded screens and more standard tech features.

CR-V Passenger Room and Comfort

The CR-V’s cabin is one of its greatest strengths, with a smart layout that makes the most of the available space. Available space is good, too, whether you’re in the front or the rear seats; second-row passengers are treated to a substantial 41 inches of legroom.

The seats are comfortable and supportive, even for extended periods, thanks to Honda’s Body Stabilizing Seat system, which aims to promote ideal posture and reduce occupant fatigue.

CR-V Cargo Room and Flexibility

There’s plenty of cargo space in the CR-V, too, with 39.3 cubic feet available behind the rear seats, or 76.5 cubic feet with the rear seats folded flat. Those figures put it at the front of the compact SUV class.

The low load floor makes it easy to access that space from the rear liftgate, and the split-folding rear seat makes it easy to configure the cabin for a variety of passenger, cargo, or dog-ferrying needs.

CR-V Features and Tech

The Honda CR-V is packed with standard and available features, but for 2026 some notable upgrades include a standard 9-inch touchscreen display now equipped by default across the range. Previously, it was only available on upper trims. Also now standard are wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus wireless device charging.

Some of our other favorite CR-V features include the keyless entry and automatic locking system, standard on EX and higher trims, which is both convenient and effective, as well as the newly available 10.2-inch digital instrument display offered in 2026 CR-V EX-L models, plus the TrailSport Hybrid, Sport-L Hybrid, and Sport Touring Hybrid. Those who frequently have to park in tight spaces may want to look at the EX-L model for the included parking sensors, too.

CR-V Materials and Design

While you won’t find premium finishes or an astonishing array of visual options, the 2026 Honda CR-V’s cabin materials are substantial and quality-feeling, especially in the leather-equipped EX-L.

Even in the non-leather models, however, the upholstery looks and feels comfortable and durable, and the switches and controls are all as robust as anything in the class. The CR-V’s button and control placement are also well thought out, clearly informed by Honda’s immense experience making excellent compact SUVs.
