While the exterior of the Nissan Sentra looks more like an evolution than a revolution, the interior gets a complete overhaul. It comes in the S, SV, SR, and reintroduces the SL trim for this generation.
The Sentra now comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen standard, which feels more integrated into the dash than in the previous model. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto also come standard, a first for the Sentra. Higher trims get a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster for driver information.
There are three USB-C ports for charging phones or other devices.
The entire interior aesthetic feels more intuitively designed and upscale. If you’re looking for a premium feel, then the top-of-the-line SL trim will appeal to you. Its quilted synthetic leather seats look elegant. Nissan’s zero-gravity inspired seats are so comfortable we often rate them some of the best in the industry.
Driver seats come with 6-way adjustability but with manual operation on the lower two trims. Legroom on the Nissan Sentra feels plentiful in the rear seats for an average adult. Taller passengers, however, might have some issues with headroom under the roofline’s slope.
Designers extended the trunk opening so it’s easier to load cargo. You can easily fit a 55-inch flatscreen television with the rear 60/40 spilt seats folded down.
The cabin doesn’t feel remarkably more refined than the outgoing model when it comes to sound. Expect to hear road noise and sound from the CVT when under heavy acceleration. Leaned out C-pillars improve the driver’s over-the-shoulder visibility.
