The Honda Accord Hybrid has a two-motor hybrid powertrain with a total output of 204 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque. That’s a small increase in horsepower and a big increase in torque compared to the non-hybrid version of the Accord, which has a turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder rated at 192 hp and 192 lb-ft. With the Accord Hybrid, you get better performance and better fuel economy without compromise.
Sometimes, we forget that the Accord Hybrid is actually a hybrid when we drive it. The powertrain’s transition from electric to gasoline to a combination of the two is velvet-smooth. The brakes feel natural despite the energy regeneration system (a compulsory feature of hybrids). And sometimes we also forget when we last went to a gas station because the fuel economy is so good. The EPA estimates that the Accord Hybrid can travel over 600 miles on one tank of gas.
In between those rare visits, we’ve found the ride quality to plot a pleasing course between comfort and control. It’s great to be in something that just works so well and doesn’t ask too much of you. There’s nothing out of the ordinary about the Accord Hybrid that a driver must do or be aware of. Simply use it and look after it as you normally would. On top of all that, the steering is easy, and the cabin is quiet. We’re impressed.

Fuel Economy
According to EPA estimates, the 2026 Honda Accord Hybrid gets up to 51 city/44 highway/48 combined mpg, but only in the EX-L trim with 17-inch wheels. The other three trims with 19-inch wheels return 46 city/41 highway/44 combined mpg. Don’t sweat that efficiency difference too much; the EPA estimates that the monthly fuel cost difference is only about $8. Meanwhile, the non-hybrid Accord gets 29 city/37 highway/29 combined mpg. All of the above use regular-grade gas.
