Found my dream car

I found my dream car in Chicago (I live in Detroit), and was able to communicate and get all the critical information in the website, while protecting mine and the owners privacy. I like the alerts, and options the website offers for purchasing, inspecting and shipping. I also like all the all the tips for keeping my information safe from scammers. I only wish it was easier to find private party cars as the dealers find ways of working around the filters.

1998 Porsche 911 C4S

Extremely rare last year of the air cooled Porsche C4S only 299 made. All stock, speed yellow in color, full leather with yellow stitching and seat belts, full turbo options but no turbos built in 1998, yellow brake calipers and full factory aero kit. Build sheet.

My favorite car
Pros

Classic styling, excellent handling, dependable

Cons

Lacks current safety features

I have owned my 1997 Porsche 911 cabriolet (993) for 20 years. Though I only drive it 4,000 miles a year, it has been one of the most dependable vehicles I have had, including a number of Audis, BMWs, and an Infiniti. Other than replacing tires and the battery, and oil changes, the only significant repair has been replacing the canvas roof. It is still fun to drive, handles beautifully, and has classic looks. As the last model of air-cooled 911s, it is appreciating in value each year.

Porsche got this 911 right!
Pros

Absolutely the ultimate air-cooled 911.

Cons

None

I absolutely love this car. I am the third owner. I bought it in Hawaii ten years ago and she is everything I expected from my second 911 (the first was 1971 911T). The only typical Typ 993 problems I have experienced thus far was a massive leak from the steering rack. The fix was a replacement with a rebuilt unit at a fairly reasonable cost. She is in the same, almost new condition as when I bought her though I have to admit, she is a garage queen.

Pros

wonderful style fun to drive, performance!!

Cons

Wiper design, cup holders

I sold my 997 turbo with tip as it was dropping in value like a rock . I decided to own a car that although old school by todays standards, would tend to hold both in value and appeal. Ive never been disappointed for making the change and find my 993 receiving more thumbs up than the turbo ever received. The G50 and engine sound make this car a true joy to drive and most of the public, not familiar with Porsche think its a newer model. The car is raw by comparison to the newer models . Im a senior and this 993 model will probably be my last Porsche. Personal opinion, the latest offerings for 911 Porsche are over size and have lost the sports car look. The clean frontal look has gone away, replaced with the appearance of a whale shark!

Pros

G-50 drop dead good looks

Cons

Wipers are not hidden

Purchased in place of my 997 turbo that was declining in value. No regrets! handles like it's on rails! Motor sound package is a must have. I've owned 4 Porsches and my 993 keeps my 1967/ 912 in great company. When considering, look for a car with either low miles or with recent SAI service.(secondary air injection).

Classic air cooled 911
Pros

Lots of looks and complements!

Cons

Eats up rear tires quickly.., but it a sports car!

I have owned my Carrera 4 narrow body since ordering it new from the local Porsche dealer in 1996. I still get the "feeling" everytime I drive it. It seems will last forever, as long as your take good care of it, plus it is not too maintenance intensive (no valve adjustments required!). I have lowered it and added adjustable Koni shocks which makes this car look even better. Not as quiet and fast as the newer 911 models, but the noise and road feel is all part of the experience for any true sports car fanatic.
