"1990 lemans, not 1 problem"

Critical Review

"Purchased Used"

I bought this car used from an auction yard about 4 years ago for a more than reasonable price, especially considering it was about 10+ years old at the time. The previous owner didn't do much to care for this car when I got it but it ran ok. Had to replace the master cylinder. Still a problem with the head gasket (someone previously had tightened it down using a regular wrench as opposed to a torque wrench) so it has some odd leaks but nothing that will stop you flat. I've had to replace the electronics module 2 or 3 times (that's frustrating) and the engine is wearing out (starting to slip gears). That being said, it's been a great little car. I've had it moving some odd stuff around and it's lived through a few Canadian winters outdoors (not all that happy about being left outside some mornings but...). It's a shame it's the last of it's kind.

STAY AWAY

I bought mine brand new in 1993. Paid off the loan 3 years early. Withing a year...everything slowly went on it. Leaked oil, many head gaskets, exhaust every year, axles, cv joints (yearly), fog light wiring I had to re-do twice, the switch for turning on the headlights shorted out & melted, coolant leak (which no one could ever figure out, automatic seatbelt motor, spark plugs needed to be rewired, alternator, catalytic converter blew chunks of metal into the system. Cute car, fun to drive, tired of my mechanic knowing me by name & laughing.
