While the range of vehicles offered in Jaguar’s lineup over the past few years has been not been wide, there still have been recalls for some of its vehicles dealing with safety issues like turn indicators and seatbelts, as well as leaky fuel systems on diesel models. Albeit, most of the recalls deal with very small numbers of vehicles and involved F-Type sports cars, XE sedans and F-Pace crossover SUVs.
For example, only 19 2018 Jaguar F-Type vehicles equipped with Highline headlamps were recalled for visual and audible turn signal reminders not working if a front turn signal indicator stops working. Without the reminders to help the driver, it’s difficult to determine if the turn signal is out. On this limited recall, NHTSA reports that all but one of the vehicles have been fixed.
A larger campaign involved Jaguar recalling 8,232 2017 XE and F-Type vehicles for faulty front seat seatbelt pretensioners that may not restrain occupants in the event of an accident. Inspection and possible replacement is needed in those cases where pretensioners are defective.
In 2017 Jaguar recalled 25 2017 F-Pace vehicles to check their automatic transmissions. The affected vehicles had rear driveshafts that were too short and could fall off the vehicle. Dealers are required to inspect the vehicles and replace the driveshafts if necessary, free of charge.
Also in 2017 Jaguar recalled some XE sedans with 2.0L diesel engines for leaky fuel hoses. Diesel fuel leakages could lead to slippery road surfaces and possible fire hazards for motorists. All affected vehicles were repaired as of January 2018, per the NHTSA.
