Positive Review
Has 3.8 engine. Only replaced alternator, brakes, tires, thermostat. Mostly normal maintenance. I drive this van back and forth to Fl and get an amazing 27 mpg with it.Just change oil and filters and go. My only problem has been the right electric sliding door sticks sometimes when it's cold outside. It's also great in the New England snow ! Too bad they don't make this one anymore.
Critical Review
This van has made it all the way to Florida and back twice, but ever since then, it's gone downhill, the seatbelt doesn't retract, the window only goes down so far, the air conditioning doesn't work, and the cable for the battery works when it wants to. It's good for hauling and farm work, but only when it works.

Just bought a gold super clean 1995 Silhouette that had 129K on the dash. Im the 2nd owner. Only needed an alternator and a new battery which the seller provided. Headliner is decent. Its very comfortable and roomy. Seats feel like im in a living room 😂. Gonna take out the back row and middle seat in the 2nd row for more room when its time to hit the beaches this summer. Also have a roof topper that has a similar shape that Im gonna paint to match the van

I took it over seas and I still drive it with confidence, but because I only drive it only for six months at a time in summer the power locks are getting a little crazy. Maybe the computer is trying to tell me something. Hahahaha Motor and trans don’t show it is a 1992. On long trips, you feel like you are on an airplane. The suspension is something else. I drove it from N.J. To Florida several times, never paid hotel just pushed the back of the seats back and slept the night through. The paint is like when it came out of the factory!!! I guess all those who have one know what I’m talking about!
Easy to drive and plenty of room.

bought it w/136k just turned 195k real basic upkeep did it all myself love it gets me everywhere I need to go sadly it will be my project van after buying 2 newer vehicles here in the near future but after i'm done with it my wife may drive it again instead of her new one!
I have a 1990 - its a classic! I live in Salt Lake and it still hasn't started rusting. I drove it to Las Vegas in back a ton of times with no problems. It overheated a few times due to a leak in the water outlet, age just started catching up i guess. I took it through the drive through wedding chapel and got married in it.
Bought this 1991 in 1991 NEW. Now it has 225,000+ miles on it with absolutely NO major repairs. Doesn't burn a drop of oil between changes. Never any engine or tranny work - just normal maintenance - brakes, tires, oil changes, etc.. It has been all over the US from Cal to Florida. Now it has developed major front suspension wear which would cost more than the value of the van so it is time to put it to rest.. I have never had a vehicle that could be used for so many things. It has been used for everything from hauling kids, 4x8 sheets of plywood, trees, dirt, gravel, sod, garbage, you name it it's hauled it. It now must go to Silhouette heaven (if there is one). This is really the best vehicle I have ever owned and I will really miss it.
