Positive Review
I bought this vehicle for my wife 2 years ago. We have just had a child and it is to be our traveling car. One week ago, my wife was t-boned in the passenger side where my 9 month old baby was sitting in the back seat. The on comming car took out both front and back doors and right rear 1/4 panel. It was a truck that hit the door so it hit high on the door where my son was in his child seat. The accident did $10500 worth of damage to the Pathfinder. However, my son was not even fazed in the accident. The impact was so severe my wife was terrified that my son was hurt. Not only was he unhurt, he was laughing 2 minutes later. Luckily no one was hurt in the accident and after having gone thru this, my wife said she will own no other car, because she feels completely safe in that car. I am trying to have the car totaled but my wife wants to repair it because she now has complete confidence in the safety of the Pathfinder. I know this is not what some of you are looking for when reading reviews, but I had to brag on the safety of this vehicle. Other than the tire pressure sensors light going off on the dashboard every now and again this has been a perfect car. Who needs sensors anyway? I never had them before on any car I have owned so why start now. This is great, very safe car to own and I would recommend it to anyone and I am particularlly hard to please. Hope this helps
Critical Review
Radiator went bad and leaked water into transmission causing tranny to fail. DO NOT BUY THIS YEAR MODEL, NOTORIOUS FOR THIS ISSUE!

After 265,000 miles and just a few months shy of 20 years before the transmission finally went. Did not experience the issue with the trans radiator that some mentioned, but I certainly got my money's worth out of this car. I'm going to get the trans rebuild and thinking I may be able to get another 100k out of that. Will keep it for teaching the kids to drive, and then use it as a more of a utility vehicle.
Change oil, rotate & balance tires.Have maintenance records.Used two shops in the last 10yrs to work on SUV.
most reliable vehicle I have ever owned
DVD player (which I never used) fell off ceiling
I am 2nd owner of my Pathfinder. I love this vehicle. I have had to put minimal money into this vehicle. Regular oil changes, tires, air filters, a battery or two and wiper blades. Put a serpentine belt on, rear shocks and valve cover gaskets (at 220,000 miles). I wish vehicles were still made this good. I will keep it until it completely dies.
Inexpensive, Reliable
Uncomfortable seating and driving for back row
It's a nice enough vehicle but a bit bare bones in features in the base model that we have. Really all it has is a radio and cd player and that's it. The feel of the car isn't bad while you're driving but it's not the most comfortable ride you're going to be in. If you're in the second row prepare to be bumped, and if you're in the third row going over a speed bump prepare to be flung. It is CRAMPED in the back row and the third row is only accessible by and fits small children. Any adult in the back seats will be uncomfortable as they aren't adjustable and the third row will have them hunched over at 6' + However, it is a nice little SUV, it hasn't given us much trouble over 3 years except for some easily fixable brake issues. All in all, we're pleased!
After 7 years, the paint bubbles up and falls off. Nissan insists that it is not recallable even though I have seen other exact models and color doing the same.
Good looking, high performance, easy to change
Prefers premium gas if you're carrying a load.
I have lower mileage due to using another work vehicle. In 2014 I bought this car used and was the second owner. It has never let me down. I took five 1400 mile round trips and moved to another state. Loaded down every time. I pulled a u-haul trailer (also loaded) one of the trips and this car never let me down. All I had to do was step on the gas and it responded without hesitation. Of course I used premium gas and keep the oil changed. I love this SUV. I recently had to replace the hydraulic lifter on the tailgate. But besides this I haven't had to put any money into car. Great looking dependable car. I even get better gas mileage than rating by 2mph in city or highway driving. Four wheel drive is easy to use. One last thing, it is easy to convert cargo area or mixed passenger and cargo.
Nice looking. Reliable
Bit of a gas guzzler
I have owned this car for 13 years. Never had to do anything but routine care. 131,000 miles. I have always found it reliable and one very little rust spot.
Dependable
Some chips and nips
Durable car. New engine tune up. Camshaft sensor replaced. Good shape . Clean look. Third row . Spacious. Strong engine.
