Positive Review
My car is AWESOME! paid $1250 and had 144000 miles on it. She rides beautifully, considering she has over 200K. So far no major issues =D timeless body style - it's a great lookin car ;) I plan to keep this car just to see how long much longer she has to go,,, I look forward to it!
Critical Review
I bought this car a year and a half ago with 101 thousand miles, it currently has 125,000 miles. I have put alot of highway miles going back and forth to school. It gets great gas milage (around 34 highway, 30 city) and it is very reliable. I had to replace the timeing belt at 120,000 miles but that is a common fix. It doesnt get points for style and speed, but its a great car for a poor college kid like myself, i would recommend it to other college kids, and parents looking to get there kids a first car.

This car hasn’t driven much. Mostly been parked. Used seat covers and plastic on carpet. Only used for long leisure drives.
More reliable then any other car
There are none :)
Love this thing!!! It keeps on running with over 200k miles and never ever has a problem! Nice stereo, comfortable seats, smooth ride, and extremely reliable! What more could I ask for?? If you looking for a good vehicle this is it I've had this car for a long time now and never intend to get rid of it.
Bought my 99 tracer in 2002 and have had it 13 years. No problems and totally reliable all these years. 30 mpg and a great runner!
great gas mileage, easy to drive, easy to maintain

exceptional auto, drove back and forth from texas to nc with no problems...until this week, timing jumped

driver's seat needs more support
I have owned this Tracer since new and have less than 50k miles on it. The car is very reliable and economical.I have received several offers by mechanics to buy it, but I still have this wonderful car. I also purchased a 1993 Tracer LTS sedan new and kept it for over 10 years before selling it to a family member. I also owned a 1989 Tracer hatchback that was purchased new in the fall of 1988, and sold that in 2000. The Tracer is absolutely one of the best cars in terms of economy, value, reliability, and fun to drive pocket rockets ( the LTS trim )on the market. I highly recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a good used car to buy. I may possibly sell my Tracer if I decide to keep my other car, but that is a difficult decision to make.
I got this car when I turned 17 with 150,000 miles on it and in less than a year I had it up to 164,000 miles. It gets incredible gas mileage, as good as "efficient" cars today, but that's what happens when you take a 4 cylinder and a manual transmission. I love this car and I will drive it till it dies. I already had to replace the alternator and switch relay for the heater. other than that just tires and oil changes. Lookin forward to years and miles ahead.
Dollar per mile ratio OUTSTANDING
Underbody corrosion became an issue the last 20k
I purchased this vehicle in 2004 for ~$3500 with 40k miles on it. Proceeded to drive it to work and sports practices for my children for the next 8 years. I had 1 issue with this vehicle that was resolved by the neighborhood mechanic. The blower motor, switch/relay failed twice and HIGH speed was never really achieved. But come on now ~ 146k Maintenance / Repair Brakes & Tires, wiper blades and that’s it. EXTREEMLY GREAT VALUE. NUANCE in front brake design - caliper design is intended to allow you to remove and install pads without removing the caliper, however if you install pads with a wear indicator you will need to remove the caliper. All systems and subsystems are working well, and would still be driving it had we not had a head-on collision. Engine, transmission, air-conditioning etc. all working well, HOWEVER, If you purchase this car please check the under-carriage. Living in Michigan, we use road salt and the corrosion is significant, to the point that the vehicle would have had to be retired, even though the mechanicals were working exceptionally well. I will be transferring the engin into a different escort
