Positive Review

"Best Sport Car with little compromise"

This is the car to have combining the best in luxury, comfort and sportiness. It might not be as "tossable" as the Boxster but it is no wimp. It does go fast when pushed and has excellent handling and fun, especially when the roof is down. I cannot say for more. I own for more than 2 years and even today I still keep looking at my car each morning before I drive off to work. Great car and years of enjoyment.

Critical Review

"Worst car I have ever owned"

My retractible roof failed at 26k miles and had to be replaced. It cost $7000 and totally changed the look of the car. The car is extremely cool to look at but rides like a tank and is very uncomfortable after about an hour of being in it. Also, the 250 engine is very unresponsive. And for the record, MB does not back its premium vehicles. A car like this should have never needed a major part (the roof) replaced at 26k miles. I am disappointed and broke after owning this car for just one year.

Almost Five Stars
Pros

fast fun convertible

Cons

some small glitches that mercedes won't own up to

purchased my 2012 slk350 in april 2024 with only 17500 miles so it was like new. i now have about 35000 miles and will say it seems like a dependable and fun car. first, the non-glass "painted" roof is a problem...this was the base option and it's a nightmare because mercedes only "glued" it down and didn't secure it so after a short number of years and heat cycles, the plastic roof warps and bows up causing air and water leaks and even though these are a guaranteed failure point, they won't take responsiblity and try to sell you a new glass top at over 5K. why didn't they just use thin aluminum or just bolt the top down - geez! i tried to glue it back down but it popped up again so i had to drill carriage bolts from the top down which was a lot of work and doesn't look bad but isn't original. my tachometer is also whacky, mainly during warmer temps...it works most of the time when temps are lower but always messes up in warmer days. lastly, i have a rattle from my catalytic converter(s) when it first cranks on cooler days...nothing drastic but requires total replacement to fix so i'll just live with the brief rattle. so all in all, the drivetrain seems to be solid and it's very fun to drive, especially with the top down!

Drives Like a Plane
Pros

You will love driving again.

Cons

None

We purchased our first Mercedes back in 2017, a 2012 Mercedes SLK 350. Love this car! Feels like you are flying down the road in a small plane. Love how it feels on the road and how it hugs the curves. Best car we've ever owned. Brings the joy back to commuting.

My First Mercedes
Pros

Everything, no negatives.

Cons

Not owning one.

This vehicle does not disappoint. Mine has all of the optional amenities. The power (I have the 3.5L V-6) and handling are more than adequate. It's quick and agile with the look and feel of a true roadster. This is my first Mecedes, but it won't be the last. I absolutely love the retractable roof. One beautiful ride.

I love this model.
Pros

Looks, handling, and hard top convertible

Cons

No apple car play.

I originally bought a 1999 SLK and had it for 20 years. I totaled it in a bad accident (with no injuries) and replaced it with this 2013 SLK 250. I love this one even more.

The Best and most Beatiful car ever.
Pros

There is nothing that can make you annoyed.

Cons

None in its category. A convertable 2 seater car.

Its brilliant instant response gives secure fingertip control while hugging the road, with the best all-around viewing that gives full awareness of surroundings. It is like being a child and having to play with your most favorite toy. Lots of space in the trunk and still room for hiding the rooftop.

One of the finest vehicles I have ever owned.
Pros

Very fun to drive especially with the top down.

Cons

The suspension is tight so it has not so soft ride

I am the second owner of this vehicle. What makes it so special is that it has the special handling package which the manual says it tops out at 186 MPH. It has a special black paint with black wheels. The interior is a dark red leather.
