Positive Review
I bought my 1996 Lincoln Continental Anniversery Edition for $500 last November. Had to do a full tuneup, replaced the radiator to be on the safe side (mainly because it was 16yrs old and plastic end caps are very prone to dry rot), new shifter cable (because the previous owner somehow broke it), tires, brakes, the usual stuff. I love this car, its my baby, no rust, never breaks down, I usually get 17 mpg city, 28 Hwy, and on the interstate, I average 32mpg with the a/c on!! I drive about 1000 miles a week on the interstate for work, i have put about 30,000 miles on the car since ive had it. Insurance is cheap (for me,I'm 21), its easy to work on, extremely reliable, very powerful for something with so many miles, its a screamer, its no problem to blow the dorrs off my buddys roushe mustang. Overall awesome car, beautiful, tough and safe. Great buy. Tis a shame they don't make like they used to.
Critical Review
air suspension is great when it works, but is highly unreliable. That's why you see so many "low rider" examples of this car...not because its a great low rider, its just broken! Placement if turn signal not the best. It has had to be replaced five times. Interior is GREAT!

Just looking at it, riding with the moon roof open
Air suspension leaking was a pain
I just love this car. Mine is a 95 that I bought in 98. It is absolutely beautiful! Inside and out! The sheik lines are gorgeous and mine is a cream color with a cream leather interior, I will never like a cars color any better than this one. It drives excellent and I just love the tire pressure sensor. It is 20 years old now and cars have come a long way but this one was way ahead of it's time. Heated seats! air ride suspension, 2 seat position switches, kickin factory radio, moon roof, fancy windshield wipers, it was really a dream car 20 years ago. I have had several new cars since and I like my Volvo but this will always be my favorite, it was the best of the best in it's day. Good Gas mileage considering and affordable somewhat as well. A really great car.
Comfortable, great visibility, reliability
CD changer stopped working
Great vehicle - would buy again if Lincoln still made the Continental; bought the vehicle in 1998 (now second owner) with only 13,000 miles. Have driven it for 16 years with little repair (transmission replaced at 50,000) and levelers replaced at 93,000. Still love this car and dislike the idea of having to eventually replace it.

Price, very stable in the turns for a large auto.
Door open indicator is poor design.
As a luxury Automobile this is the greatest, I get 22MPG on Hwy cruising at 75 Mph. Town is not that good only 15MPG. I have only owned one other luxury automobile that I would even try to compare to this Continental and this would be the ride of a Cadillac is somewhat smother, But The interior is better than a Cadillac and it handles better.
No cons
Great car and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a dependable vehicle.
this is a great car
