The Land Rover brand of SUVs is a storied group of rugged vehicles tracing back to 1948 which have since evolved into luxury vehicles without losing their off-road prowess. They are part of the Jaguar Land Rover Automotive group. Formerly part of Ford’s Premier Automotive Group, Land Rover along with Jaguar was acquired by Indian automaker Tata Motors in 2008. Although based in the United Kingdom, the brand currently assembles Land Rover vehicles in England, India and China. To provide miles of trouble-free driving, Land Rover Vehicles need to be properly maintained. To that end, Land Rover has published specific service schedules to make sure their vehicles last for many years to come.
Land Rover vehicles are set up on a 16,000 mile or 12 months service schedule. At around that time, an alert light will appear on the dashboard informing you it’s time for a vehicle service to include an oil and filter change, a tire rotation, a comprehensive vehicle examination, which includes inspections of the wiper blades, wheels and tires, parking brake, exterior lighting, the exhaust system, drive belts, and a check of all the fluid levels including windshield wiper, power steering, cooling breaks, and finally a replacement of the cabin air filter.
The process repeats itself at 32,000 miles and builds on the 16,000-mile service by adding an inspection of the suspension, wiring harness, steering system, hoses, brake line and brake system fluid change.
Land Rovers are covered by a new vehicle limited warranty for 4 years/50,000 miles, whichever comes first. Each vehicle also carries a 6-year/unlimited mileage corrosion warranty and various emissions warranties as well. The Land Rover Warranty program also includes 24-hour roadside assistance, 24-hour towing, Trip Interruption Expense Benefits, and depending on proximity to the dealer, a Retailer Mobile Technician Program with specially-outfitted Land Rover service vehicles and technicians who can come to assist you in the case of a roadside event.
Land Rover offers a Prepaid Scheduled Maintenance Plan that locks in scheduled services at today’s costs. Coverage is transferrable and service is available nationwide. Land Rover also offers a Prepaid Full Maintenance Plus Wear & Tear program, which, in addition to the basic oil and filter changes, will cover spark plug, fuel filter, brake pads, rotors, brake wear sensors, and wiper blade replacements.
Land Rover’s Extended Warranty is available that can provide coverage for up to 7 years/100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Coverage includes, but is not limited to: engine Components, powertrain control unit, clutch, gearbox, transmission, AWD, axles and transfer box, propshaft (driveshaft), suspension, catalytic converter, fuel system, braking system, ignition, turbo- or supercharger, steering, air conditioning, infotainment, and more. The extended warranty also includes travel protection and is transferrable.
Both the extended warranty and prepaid maintenance plans can be paid for at the time of delivery of the new Land Rover, with the added cost of each rolled into the overall purchase price and paid through your vehicle finance plan.
