Positive Review
Great advanced technology creates a safe reliable ride. This SX model has more safety features than my 2020 E class Benz at half the price. The handling on city roads is tight and comfortable. On the Highway it performs very well, with responding to pass other vehicles and maintains a steady cruise speed without searching gears constantly like other SUV’s I have owned.
Critical Review
Terrible vehicle! Check engine light keeps coming on. Stranded us by the side of the road when battery died and didn't kick over to hybrid. They don't have all the kinks worked out in their plug in hybrids yet. We've had it in the shop 8 times in 6 months. Last time they had it for TWO WEEKS. KIA has been rude to deal with. Buy a Honda or Toyota. Buying this car was the WORST CAR BUYING MISTAKE I've made in my life!!!!!

Like the styling although that is subjective. Appreciate all the tech and safety features. Interior appears upscale. Gas milage is as advertised. But the options...(wow) Auto sensing wipers, auto dimming headlights, fog lights - everything LED. Heated and cooled from seats (heated only in rear). Adaptive cruise (can be set to standard mode), Lane Keep Assist, fwd collision alert, heated windshield, Harmon Karmon sound, Panoramic roof...and the list goes. Surround view monitor, front and rear parking sensorsPlenty of storage space those for long road trips. (Very comfortable seats.). AWD with a variety of drive modes...and the list goes on. Ride is extremely comfortable. My question is do we need to make a decion based upon the 2 sec delay beween 7.1 to 60, and 9.1 to 60? (I did give it 4 stars based on performance) This is not a sports car. Never have problems either in town or on highway. Easy to keep up with trafic. Above all - Comfort, conveniences, and space. And all under $40,000. Many will not purchase it - but it is well worthy of consideration - a worthy competitor in a growing and crowded field. Kia as come a long way in recent years..
The 2026 Sportage is amazing! It is comfortable, drives great, and has amazing technology features. We love our Sportage!!
Well made, durable ride, awesome safety features, AWD, amazing MPG
wish I would have done this sooner
This was my first new vehicle purchase, and well worth the wait and research. Loaded with practical safety features, amazing ride, and Kia warranty speaks for itself!
Looks stylish
Gas mpg is false advertising, overpriced
Looks good. Uncomfortable, low power, and gas mileage is a farce. Some of the most uncomfortable seats I have ever sat in. KIA claims it will get 38 MPG city and highway, but 11,000 miles in it has averaged 30.1. I rented a non hybrid Nissan Rogue last weekend and it got over 36 mpg making me wonder why I wasted the money on a hybrid. Climate control will roast and then freeze you at the same temperature setting. We hate the radio too, only AM FM or phone pairing, that’s it. For a base model that is well into the mid 30k price range, I regret not getting a Honda, Toyota, or Nissan.
Love.. I’ve previously driven suv Lexus rx350, as well experience with fast car, 911 Porsche.. I like sportage Over Lexus, prefer the ride and handling of this vehicle..sportage has responsive soft ride..cabin is quiet..respectable (quick ) response when asked, it’s not a race car… Get Great options/accessory’s for price point..at mid trim levels…all the safety features usually find in higher trims other brands…great safety ratings… Great head & leg room for rear passengers… great amount of rear storage… Interior nice with soft touches..huge dash screen that is responsive without any glitches or hesitation…with many options/settings… Cons:::none

Electrical problems
Bought this car brand new from the dealership 2 years ago and it has already been in the shop 4 different times for breaking down/ injectors going bad. In the process right now of getting it lemoned for it recently breaking down in the middle of the interstate and service department not knowing what’s wrong with it. Pretty car, but don’t judge a book by its cover.
Very nice exterior design, large cargo area, nice driving screen display, camera system
Gutless, laggy, jerky driving, outside smells easily enter cabin, interior finish falling apart
The Kia Sportage is great to look at! The engine is just too small for the size of vehicle. It is gutless... I took my car into the dealership thinking there had to be something wrong with it. Nope, the mechanic told me to turn off my auto hold (keeps the break on while stopped) and every time I start the car to turn off the auto shut-off. These "features" are causing the vehicle to lag! What a joke.. The finish on the interior door handles is pealing off and sliced my husbands finger as he was getting out. ANY smell from outside immediate comes into the cab and chokes us out to the point of having to roll the windows down to clear the air. This car is my biggest vehicle purchase regret. Unless they make some serious changes, I will not be buying another KIA again.
Pep, MPGs, Roominess, Quality for price compared to Honda CRV and Rav4 Hybrids
No passenger side power seat without paying much more. Limited selection.
We love our new Sportage Hybrid EX It is peppy, has good MPG (not seeing EPA est yet tho), it's roomy, with good quality build. We have owned every top rated brand (the wife and I even met selling Hondas together), so we know a good car when we see one. You can't go wrong with this choice. Just go hybrid for the extra oomph!
