Positive Review

"Perfect vehicle for all purposes."

Great advanced technology creates a safe reliable ride. This SX model has more safety features than my 2020 E class Benz at half the price. The handling on city roads is tight and comfortable. On the Highway it performs very well, with responding to pass other vehicles and maintains a steady cruise speed without searching gears constantly like other SUV’s I have owned.

VS

Critical Review

"DON'T BUY!!"

Terrible vehicle! Check engine light keeps coming on. Stranded us by the side of the road when battery died and didn't kick over to hybrid. They don't have all the kinks worked out in their plug in hybrids yet. We've had it in the shop 8 times in 6 months. Last time they had it for TWO WEEKS. KIA has been rude to deal with. Buy a Honda or Toyota. Buying this car was the WORST CAR BUYING MISTAKE I've made in my life!!!!!

Second Sportage Hybrid

My 2019 Kia Optima EX, which came with the same 1.6 liter turbo used in the hybrid, was totalled last November when I was stopped for construction traffic. So I had to get a new car. My wife has a 2023 Kia Sportage hybrid SX Prestige which is close to 3 years old. We have had no problems with it and it rides better than some luxury cars we have ridden in so I ended up replacing the 2019 Optima with a 2026 Kia Sportage hybrid SX Prestige with the only option being the homelink self-dimming mirror. The ride is similar to the 2023 Sportage, including how quiet the vehicle is. My 2026 has less than 1,500 miles on it and is averaging 34.7 mpg; the EPA rating is 35! The 2026 come standard with even more standard features than the 2023: automatic folding side-view mirrors, heated rear seats and heads-up display. I am tired of black and/or gray interiors. My Sportage is wolf gray with, what I call, a terracotta interior. My Optima was virtually trouble free in the seven years I owned it and the 2023 Sportage has been trouble free in over two and a half years of ownership.

Pros

Complete package

Cons

None

Out of all cars I have owned. The 2026 Sportage is by far a more. Complete car. Great gas mileage, great handling, great acceleration & braking. The "looks" are of a .ore expensive car. Definitely a catch

Quite Possibly The Worst Car I've Ever Owned/Lease
Pros

The color. Thats it

Cons

Handling, drive quality.

Rough driving experience? Without a doubt the worst, constant failure of the Kia Connect... Say it ain't so. Totally my own fault tbh, I brought my previous car in to the Kia dealership for new brakes & spotted a 2026 Wolf Grey XLine calling my name. Let's just say its now been back in the service dept 6 times in 4 months for various issues (Mostly the entire car shaking) still no luck and might as well talk about the last trip to the dealer when I picked it up and there is a huge dent (Yeah not a ding) on the passenger side door. They told me they weould get it repaired when its in for the first oil change. If ever I wanted a lease to go in fast this one without a doubt tops the list. Lesson learned.. My teenage Sons dont even want to drive it, imagine a 2026 model car that drives so bad your teenagers would rather share a 2013 Rav4..The day the lease ends and I turn it back in will be a great day.

Great little SUV

Great small SUV. Hybrid engine gives the car much better get-up than the non-hybrid engines. Great MPGs, drives smooth, quiet cabin, comfortable seats. Great features for the SX trim — can practically drive itself. No problems of any kind since owning this car. Would definitely recommend this vehicle.

Very nice SUV......But....

I've had my 2026 Sportage EX Hybrid for about 5 weeks, Actually, got it because of the high ratings . This SUV is spacious and has comfortable seating, has a modern enfotainment center (although it takes time to adjust to it) and has a surprisingly QUIET cabin. It also has a large cargo area. It rides smoothly and takes bumps pretty well. If you need more "bells and whistles" than the EX trim, you may want to go to the next trim level. I'm disappointed in the MPG, Kia claims it gets "combined driving" 34 mpg....not....even...close. With conservative driving, I,m getting about 28, maybe 29. Kia reps tell me to wait until the "break in" period is over, I don't believe that but maybe, who knows

One year owner going great

One year in and it’s perfect for my needs. Lots of great features, really enjoy the cooled/heated seats, heated steering wheel, sunroof, and plenty of space. Has enough horsepower for normal daily driving with a smooth transmission. Also appreciate the safety features like Birds Eye view and when the car in front goes it lets you know. I haven’t had any maintenance issues. Has a big screen for navigation. Out of the ten cars I’ve own this is easily in the top 3 most enjoyable.

Non stop problems

I have Kia sportage 2023, I purchased this vehicle because I was ready for an SUV. This vehicle new line was beautiful and the space of the trunk was perfect for work. For a year the car worked fine only little compliant was the radio was low. However after a year in, my car started to die while driving randomly, I took it for a diagnostic like 3 times. Since the problem happen randomly they couldn't figure it out. Then one day it died completely and didnt turn on. They tried to say it was the battery but all the diagnostic said my battery was fine. So I paid for the battery and the diagnostic since they said it was not covered even though this car is only 1 1/2 years old. The issue did stop but a new glitch started to happen, my key wouldn't unlock my car, they said it was the battery on my key so I changed it. My key still is not letting me in my car in the winter and to be honest a 2 year old key car shouldn't need two battery changes. Now the biggest issue is, in 10° degree weather my air compressor isnt working, which means I have no air and heat coming out my car.

Little Annoyances

Have had vehicle for a week now. Been driving a Buick Encore Gx for the last 5 years. Needed more cargo space. Doors on the Kia dont close easily- really have to slam shut. When changing volume on radio, fingers get near auto climate control switch and climate system turns on. Last media used does not return with next start up. Was told vehicle has own wifi- apparently it does not.. Not as quiet or smooth on the highway as hoped. Not as noticeable in town. Grand kids love the extra rear seat room. No warning lights on, and every thing seems to work. MPG for the week was 29 with one longer highway trip. Hopefully I will get used to the vehicle soon
