"Couldn't Believe We Bought a Kia"

We did not want to buy a mini-van, but realized we needed to cave once baby #3 arrived and oldest started school and we needed space to help with carpools. The most important thing was safety so we agreed to buy the safest minivan out there, and were surprised to find that consistently that was the Kia Sedona. We drove a Honda Odyssey, a Toyota Sienna and a Town & Country along the way. Frankly, a minivan's a minivan. We went into it sure we'd go for the Honda or the Toyota, but stuck to our commitment to safety and bought the Sedona. It's been two years, and it's been a great great vehicle. Has good (deep) storage behind the 3rd seat, the back seats fold into the floor and the middle ones pop right out if needed. The back up sensors and mirrors that auto adjust when you back up are nice, and the power/leather/wood grain make it feel like a step up from the minivans I grew up with. There are ample cup holders. I really like not having to "dig" for the LATCH hooks in the seats (in our other car they are hidden behind a flap of leather and are cumbersome to find). If you are especially big/tall, there is not a lot of room in the front. My husband is 6'2" and it works, but if he were any taller it would not be comfortable. We have had zero mechanical problems. Overall, we were surprised to buy a Kia, but have been very very happy with it.

"bye bye kia"

Bye bye Kia, bye bye. i have owned two now and we are done. While I like the value paid for the features provided, the overall quality of the car is not built to last, not to mention the resell value or lack thereof. My high level advice, figure on getting a hundred thousand miles out of it and then get rid of it. Why? Because stuff will start breaking left and right after that, it will always be something. The car becomes a bit of a money pit and a major inconvenience. The parts for it are not cheap either. I can't tell you how many times I have replaced the headlight bulbs at $25 a pop, and I'm also tired of the different size wiper blades.

413000 miles. Maintained. Very few repairs
Pros

Strong engine, powerful and reliable

Cons

plastic interior, temp controls wonky

Bought new in 2010. Garaged its whole life. Regular oil and fluid changes. 1 set of new brakes. 1 shocks/struts replacement. 2 spark plug changes. New power door lock actuators. 4 sets of tires, headlight and taillight bulbs, sway-links and a set of valve cover gaskets. That's it. Very small oil leaks developing now and its getting a little noisier with everything. From what we hear about some Kia's, we feel like we have the unicorn. Mostly highway miles probably helped. Engine / transmission very strong. Lots of life left in it, but hard to believe anyone would buy it with over 400,000 miles on it.

Great vehicle
Pros

great vehicle. well made. sturdy. reliable.

Cons

none for us

We have a 2012 Kia Sedona and the only thing we have had to do is annual maintenance. Nothing has been wrong, nothing has broken. We do regular maintenance and service on it. It has been a great vehicle and it is still going strong.

Great value, performance and LOTS of room!
Pros

Reliable power train, plenty of power, economical

Cons

Sliding door problem mentioned above

We decided to move up from an older Mazda van and were very surprised by the much greater room in the Sedona than the Mazda van we had. It also surprises any friends that drive it to how much power it has when needed to pass! They often find themselves 'peeling out' the first time they step on the gas pedal, even after being warned! We are VERY satisfied with our 2012 Kia Sedona with the only fault being the sliding side passenger door which once stuck open, making for a very interesting drive from Frenchglen to Burns, OR as we tried to find a place to help us! So the only caution I'd mention is being gentle with that sliding door! (We ran with the 'flashers' on to alert passing vehicles, yes, we know that door is open!

2007 Kia Sedona EX best vehicle ever
Pros

most dependable and reliable ever

Cons

I should have bought it earlier

this has been the best vehicle I've ever owned it has been so dependable and reliable all I've had to do is change the tires and change the oil regularly it's a great vehicle it cleans up easy the seats remove easy it has heated front seats it gets 18 19 miles to the gallon in the city I hate to get rid of it but I only need one vehicle to keep Insurance taxes and registration inspections on I can afford only one so I'm sacrificing my Kia at $5,000.
