2025 Kia K5 Consumer Reviews

I’ve had this car for 5 years now, it is not worth the price we paid for it. $37,000 out the door. Here are the list of problems: - My sunroof/moonroof auto stopped working after 80 thousand miles - Car starts jerking shifting gears after 80 thousand miles, went to the manufacturer and they said that’s wear and tear. - my power adjuster seats stopped working - Remote start stopped working after 70 thousand miles - Ac sucks, Honda is a lot better power and temperature wise - suspension is okay - really heavy and slow car - wireless charger is really weak - Apple car play connects (sometimes even after I try to manually connect it) - Apple CarPlay audio lags and disconnects often - my turbo went out so my MPG went down significantly from 29 to 21.5 - Lane assist sucks, jerks 870% of the time - my gas tank stopped openly smoothly 100 thousand miles, have to press it many times to make it open

Purchased the car in April 26 writing review June of 26. Driven 4,000 miles and love the car. Drives smooth, looks amazing very comfortable and very quiet. The cars power is adequate. You are not going to win any races but with current fuel prices at $4.60 a gallon I appreciate almost 33mpg much more than being able to smoke the tires. I purchased the premium upgrade for Bose system, sunroof, red interior and very happy with the extra features. The backup camera, blind spot monitoring and lane assist all work and are useful. I really enjoy the auto headlights which also dim high beam making driving at night easy and safe. I use the cruise control feature daily and it works well for keeping distance and stopping in traffic. You basically just need to steer the car. I love the auto hold feature when you stop you can take your foot off the brake and the car will stay stopped until you press the gas. The cruise control and auto stop keep your legs well rested for long journeys and trips in stop and go traffic. Overall very happy with the purchase and will update if any issues in the future.

The car itself as a daily driver is great. It drives smooth and is pretty quiet inside and gives pretty good mileage as I drive long distance multiple times throughout the year. The car comes with amazing standard features from dual zone, wireless charging, huge screens, all the safety features and very nice feeling inside. The car is also just one of the nicest looking cars ever. It is so clean and sporty looking. I gave it a 3 as one year of ownership concluded this summer in August my car’s body domain controller chip died and became unusable and had to be towed to service and stayed there for 4 weeks. Also a piece in the door passenger side broke off inside the door causing weird rattle. I make sure to not hit potholes and I drive carefully and avoid really bad roads when I can. Never had this issue with any of my GM cars or my old Kia forte.

Transmission has extremely hard shifting if vehicle sits for more than 24 hours. After the vehicle is parked, inside garage, or outside, the first drive of the day has an extremely hard shift of the transmission on the first shifting of the day. The shift it so hard, it jerks the entire car and jolts me in my seat. The remainder of the drive and day, the hard shifting does not occur. Took the vehicle into dealership where purchased at 1000 miles and left it with them for 2 full days. Unsurprisingly, they said they were, "Unable to reproduce". The next day, the vehicle had the exact same problem. I have close to 3000 miles on the vehicle and the transmission continues to do the exact same thing every time I drive it. It is terrible for a brand new car. It doesn't matter which "Drive mode" the vehicle is in. The dealership also tried to reset the ECM. But no luck.

I have 2022 kia k5 gtline with 90k kms on it. I never had problem with this car except 2 times, one for reverse camera (changed for free), and one for throttle body valve( again for free). Eventhough I don’t like 2024 k5 headlight design, 2022 k5 is amazing. For some reason the depreciation was very less than expected. After 50k kms on the car I got quote for $39k.

On my 2021 Kia K5 GT Line , the steering wheel latch unlock when making a full turn to the left , the steering wheel becomes unstable.

Only thing I dislike about the car is how the seat go back automatically when car turns off which is the most dumb thing you can do cause if someone behind me the seat presses into the legs and I just broke my snake cage cause because the seat literally press into it and broke the glass now I got to pay 200$ on another snake cage because of a dumb seat like why make it automatic and for the seat go all the way back like that like nobody sit in backseat or stuff in the backseat now it done broke my snake cage because the seat automatically went back and shattered it

to tell the truth I have had two kia a forte and now I have a kia k5 gt-line the truth is that both models came out bad well they are cheap brands what can you expect and more on the K5 the horn doesn't work it has already been replaced (new car 2025) the information screens tend to have a way that it turns on and off suddenly and loses apple carplay connectivity, the speakers once in a while lost sound, once it happened to me that I drove on the freeway and the car wouldn't accelerate, of course everything has a warranty and everything is fixable but it's a headache knowing that something happens to it all the time, in the end you write to the manufacturer and they don't care, they just tell you use the warranty they should put lemon law on this cheap brand
