Positive Review
Well, here it is everyone reading my nice review. This car is amazing first of all. It's small, convenient. Good on fuel mileage, and low cost up keep. This car is fun to drive around. It's reliable, has a strong warranty. The value of these cars do hold up nicely. They are a good car, especially being a small compact sedan. I, have all good things to say!!
Critical Review
Not much, just trying to keep my cool. I'm Just mat at myself for buying this stupid kia forte gt. This thing has been a headache since I bought it. Dealing with condensation issues in my head lights, tail lights etc. Transmission having strange hard shifts. Engine having low idle problems. Yeah, you should of never bought this car. Look homie, there's plenty of chop shops. Plus you don't even need a key to start it.

Now been almost 2 years of having no air conditioning in a car bought brand new with less than 10 miles on it. Originally bought for Kia's warranty and that was my biggest mistake. Been in shop 3+ times and still no solution. Local dealer is a joke with no diagnostic skills and has yet to figure out what is wrong after ordering parts for a lower style with different motor, which verified they had never even tried to diagnose or fix my car. Contacted Kia corporate to file complaint and promised to fix the issue. Yet to hear back from them with a solution other than leaving my car at the dealer for them to eventually fix. They will offer no rental while fixing. Extremely disappointed in the customer service and warranty. DO NOT BUY KIA!!!!!!!!!
Iv put just over 26k miles on it and I love it. Been very reliable and great on gas. Plenty of room and very comfortable seats.
Great mpg
A little sluggish and a bit noisy
My 2023 KIA Forte xls has 18952 miles I purchased new with 11 miles on it. Only routine maintenance has been performed, the car computer says my average mpg for the nearly 19,000 miles is 39.6 mpg. My own hand calculations is 38.8 mpg. About 1 mile per gallon difference. My best mpg for an extended trip was 57.1 mpg. I always stay at the stated speed or less. This is not a hybrid, but I do drive conservative. I am 77 years old and have not had a accident or ticket in the last 30 years or so.
I’m at 310,000 and my first check engine light came on and it was only a stopped up catalytic converter
I bought my 2019 Kia Forte on Jan 1, 2021. It had 27,000 mi on it. 61,000 today in 2025. I have had ZERO mechanical issues. I do get regular oil changes and fluid checks and got brand new tires last Fall. I love it. I am trading it in for something not so low to the ground as physically its getting hard for me to get in and out.
IVT transmission
car design, not good head room, for entering car or using back seat. Thin doors, weak loose door handles.
I've had car for 11 mos. the door handles are weak, and feel like they could be pulled off. When putting items in the back seat, like laundry, groceries, you will bump your head on the car frame roof, because of the design, and how its shaped, this happens when you get in the driver seat, unless you bend your head, and stoop down, if you dont youll bump your head on car frame. At 59000 miles, the gas pedal feels loose. The doors are flimsy, thin doors, notice when you open and close them. IVT transmission is nice feature. I would not buy a KIA again.
Good gas mileage.
Not that comfortable. Sound system is bad. Thieves, thieves everywhere regardless of the software upgrade (they will try anyways to steal it), drives very very boring, nobody else wants it so the resale value plummeted, insurance premiums insanely high (again, even if you upgrade the software, put in a wheel lock, have remote stop, it does NOT HELP AT ALL)
This car was an absolute joke to me. It was not nearly as reliable as my Honda or Toyota from the past. The worst part, was the fiasco with thievery. I had 3 separate occasions of a smashed window, torn out ignition. 1000+ dollar fixes that render the car unusable during its duration. I am apart of the lawsuit; but almost every new kia seems to have something go horribly wrong with it. New ev has electrical issues (what a joke) new cars have engine issues, etc. Kia should never be trusted with your money, if you buy a Kia you are part of the problem.
Looks nice.
Cheaply made and warranty work is non existent
2023 Kia Forte GT Manual. Looks nice. Bought brand new, tires were bald before 15k miles causing accident when unable to stop. Same mileage, AC has not worked all summer. Kia unable to fix under their amazing "warranty" been 2 months now and still no solution or attempt to fix after incorrect parts were ordered the first time I brought it in for service. If you are buying this car for the warranty, I highly suggest you do not. They will fight you every step of the way to fix your car.
