Positive Review
I had been talking to my wife about electric cars for a few years, but never got off the fence. Recently, after talking to two EV owners at a charging station, I went home and added up what we spent on gas for our mini-van and sedan. I was shocked. I researched the EV6 and one search was surprising. When I looked up "Kia EV6 awards" there was page after page of awards the car has won. One page even said "This car is so good its even winning awards that aren't for cars." But we still test drove a few others and eventually purchased a Certified 2022 EV6 from a Kia dealer. That means we were able to get the balance of it's 10-year / 100,00-mile warranty, which includes the EV6’s battery. Also, we were able to switch our electric supplier to one that is 100% renewable. That means that every mile we drive will truly be zero emissions! It has the comfort of a very pricey luxury car. Its so quiet. On the highway we feel more like we are gliding in an airplane. The handling and acceleration are exceptional. I love driving this car. While customer service at the dealerships isn't on par with the vehicle, the EV6 is still extraordinary.
Critical Review
250 to 275 mileage on a full charge. Resale value is terrible. Over priced suv for what it is. Reliability is not that good because of the weather changes, it messes with the battery. Seats are a bit hard on road trips. Just a typical electric vehicle that is not worth buying.

good design
raw techology and quality
The technology in this vehicle still feels like it is very much a work in progress, with significant reliability issues. My 2023 Kia EV has now lost power three separate times, creating a serious safety concern. The failures were unpredictable and left the vehicle unsafe to operate. The car is now out of Lemon Law, yet the problem remains unresolved. Kia has not identified the root cause and has not provided a permanent repair. Temporary checks and resets are not a solution when a vehicle repeatedly loses power. Customer service has been extremely poor. I contacted Kia multiple times by phone and direct messages, and there has been no meaningful action or resolution. The lack of accountability and urgency for a safety-related issue is deeply disappointing. Overall, this experience has left me with a very negative impression of both the vehicle and the company. I would strongly caution potential buyers: the technology may look appealing, but reliability and post-sale support are not where they need to be.
I had all the good intentions despite some of my car friends telling me not to buy a KIA. There are two main problems: one is reliability. Especially of the electrical system. I forgot the component that gets recalled in the electrical ,system but it seems to have an issue. Just about a week ago,, there is was this major electrical warning light that cam on in my car. I was really worried I was going to be stranded late at night. Thankfully it was not. This has to be second time I have to bring this in. The car is only two years old. Second are the dealerships. First, they don't have enough mechanics for the EVs; second, they do not automatically give a loaner car. They just don't know how to take care of individuals who spend money on cars. Not worth the price. Next time I am buying a Lexus.
The AWD GT is a sleeper in Eco mode and a fire breathing monster in GT mode. Great driving experience… fun and fast paced it’s excellent handling when you want it and a more casual ride daily driving. The looks and styling of the car is a head turner. Interior upholstery and design is high quality and modern. The only major issue(s) I have had is with the electronics on the vehicle. The first generation seemed to be plagued with all kinds of odd electronic gremlins. I had an issue with the stereo that required three separate trips to the dealership where the wiring harness/electrical connections was looked at, the head unit was replaced and then ultimately the amplifier in the sound system was replaced. Even more frustrating because I had already researched the issue and found a TSB and told Matthews Kia this was likely the issue based on the problem I was hearing with the sound randomly switching from the front speakers to the rear. I had another issue with the ICCU needing to be recalled and the 12V battery not holding its charge and needing to be replaced.
0 problems in 3 years. Love charging in my garage. Haven't had problems finding charging stations on vacation. Live in SC.
Comfortable car with good handling
ICCU Design Flaw, Excessive Time to Repair, Poor Range in Winter
I bought my 2023 Kia EV6 GT-LINE used in December 2024 and by February 2025, the ICCU died while I was driving. It took two months for Kia to get the part to the dealership to fix it. I am working on Kia buy back and will never get an electric vehicle from Kia again.
Perfect
🎆Great machine 0 problems. Trust me you’re gonna love it. Best vehicle in everyday situations for an aero dynamic mid sized coupe like SUV🥳
Charging Speed, Range, Efficiency
Headroom, Frunk Space
Firstly - needed to put in a 12V battery at 30K miles but that was relatively cheap for peace of mind following the frustration of dashboard errors and frigid morning no-starts. After that, nothing but great things to say! Ultra fun, fast charging, and spacious. Great for commuting, camping, and road tripping. The V2L has saved our butts in power outages, as well as provided convenience in the back woods. Charge times when on the road are wicked fast and the car is usually waiting for us by the time we get back from a bio-break. With the large hatchback there is plenty of room for luggage or even a mountain bike. I added a trailer hitch for the occasional large hauling need too. Great versatility, AWD performance, and comfort all around. Software updates have made quality of life improvements over time, though they are few and far between from KIA. Happy now and hope to be as happy long into the future.
Electric good range drove cross country twice no issue
No built in garage door opener car does not unlock when you approach
Bought the car in June of 2022 new
