l was not eligible for the veterans discount of 500.00. You have to be active duty or retired, I was drafted in 1968 and spent 13 months overseas and I am not eligible. I feel ALL veterans should be eligible for the Chrysler discount.
Critical Review
These vehicles were clearly not ready for production. Tons of recalls and they still can't fix them properly. Market value is plummeting because of it. Beyond that the hybrid system in general is garbage And extremely inefficient. Ford made a better system 10 years ago when the technology was new. Stellantis needs to buy these back.. unacceptable.

Interior design
Numerous recalls, battery range
I wanted to try a plug-in hybrid and liked the redesign of the Grand Cherokee, so I ended up deciding on this vehicle. I enjoy the interior, overall design/style, and think the vehicle drives smooth. Otherwise, this has been plagued with numerous recalls, the battery range is poor, and the engine transition from battery to gas can literally shake the entire car at times. I would not recommend the 4xe model to friends or family. I'd suggest an all-gas model if you're leaning towards a Grand Cherokee or another make/model altogether if you're looking for a hybrid.
Heated back seats and large panoramic roof
Everything not mentioned as a pro
I have never had a vehicle I disliked more than this Jeep. I can’t wait to get rid of it!! Stay far away from the 4xe! It drives like garbage and has had multiple glitches with the stereo and the ABS system. The hybrid hates the cold, so if you live in a cold winter climate, the point of having a hybrid is lost since the battery is usually in gas and oil refresh mode in super cold temperatures.
I have had three of these and love them! They are so comfortable and stylish! So you pay a little more, its worth it!!
Good looking, drives well
UConnect infotainment is AWEFUL
The UConnect Infotainment system is HORRIBLE! Stellantis ought to be embarrassed about this system. We are going on our 3rd visit to get it worked on. When it works, it's great. The system takes upwards of 3 minutes to change profiles between drivers. It's my wife's car, and she drives it 99% of the time. When we go somewhere together, I drive. Changing profiles from hers to mine will take 3 minutes or more. That's loading phone data, changing radio stations, etc. Also, when doing so, and the MUTE button is selected, several times during the change, the radio will come back on. Horrible system. I had a Ram 1500 and the UConnect was awesome. Now the driver's seat makes a popping sound when moving around/shifting in the seat. We'll see if we need to start pursuing the lemon law soon. Stay tuned!! Worse yet, the value of the vehicle has dropped over $25K. We have only had it for 11 months. Another embarrassment for Stellantis.
I have owned 2 other Grand Cherokees since 2012, this is my third. Each one is exceptional considering all options, styling and drivetrain. Although the pricing creeped up somewhat, I have complete confidence in my recent purchase. I found the one I wanted with the color and options I wanted, so that made the decision easier. No my model is not top of the line but all the bells and whistles were not needed. I bought what I needed. I recommend the Grand Cherokee, highly. Quiet, comfortable, stylish, powerful and safe.
Very smooth ride very dependable all the way around worth its money. On an off-road makes no difference still rides the same and still reliable.
Engine died twice within same year. Had to get towed both times. Im never going to buy a stellantis piece of junk again.
I used to work at the assembly plant where my new Jeep GC was built. So I really wanted to love my new Jeep. But in just seven months it's already been towed to the dealership, spent almost two weeks at the dealership over two visits due to a dead battery and then a misaligned hood rubbing the fender. I'm now battling with the customer care to get the paint damage from the hood resolved. Overall, it's been an extremely disappointing ownership experience. Keep your sanity and buy Toyota/Lexus/Honda/Acura instead of dealing with this. This Jeep has already been in the shop more than my 10+ year old 4Runner and MDX combined! Jeep leadership should be ashamed of themselves. I'm not just dealing with bad quality, but I'm wasting hours of my time and am out of pocket for Ubers and car rentals!
