We're in love with our unit. I bought it for my wife, but I absolutely love driving this unit. Is our first EV and we were kind of worried, but is been amazing this 7 months. Our shooting star matte finish, have been easy to take care (not as hard as you usually read). Almost 12,000 miles and is giving us a range between 320 and 340 miles per charge. We live in Puerto Rico and the weather is perfect for the unit, which is SEL RWD. Highly recommended!!!
Critical Review
This vehicle quit on me with no warning while driving on the freeway. I barely had momentum to coast to the side of the road. The vehicle would not turn on or shift into gear to be loaded onto the tow truck. I called the bluelink for tow assistance and was told it could only be towed to nearest dealership. I was 150 miles away from home. The dealership would not give me a loaner car or a ride back home. Reason: the dealer had to determine it was not my fault the vehicle would not run. Three days later it was determined the Internal Computer Charging Unit had quit. The part was on back order and they did not know when it would be available. It took 6 weeks. The customer service regarding this issue was horrible. I would not recommend this vehicle or brand to anyone I know.

I have the 2025, SEL... some good updates some bad. 2023 had nicer interior materials (check out plastic on door handle where your knee hits), more plastic to save cost? No ambient lighting, and just less well built over 2023. Updated suspension to be firm and jittery (like Tesla?), 2023 much nicer on rough roads. Make in USA growing pains and many creaks and rattles in headliner and dash. HMM, I guess tried to keep cost down in inflation world - know drives like hyundai of 10 yrs ago. New Tuscon has nicer interior - so all the money going to battery. Look, competiotion is coming and interior quality and rattles and ride will make me look elsewhere in a year after lease is up. Rande has been much better than advertised though
I am leasing a 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 in the highest trim level, fully loaded with every available feature, and the experience has been incredibly disappointing. Within the first couple of months of the lease, the vehicle required two separate tows due to repeated 12-volt battery drain. The dealership was unable to properly diagnose the issue for far too long. After multiple service visits, it was finally determined that a dealer-installed LoJack device was draining the battery—something that should have been identified immediately. Now, with only around 6,000 miles, the vehicle is back at the dealership again, this time for ICCU and fuse failure. Having major electrical and charging system issues this early into a lease is unacceptable, especially for a vehicle marketed as advanced and reliable. The technology is impressive on paper, but that doesn’t matter when the car is unreliable and repeatedly in the shop. Between multiple tows, poor diagnostics, and major component failures at such low mileage, this has been a frustrating and confidence-destroying experience. For a top-trim EV lease, I expected peace of mind—not repeated breakdowns and constant trips to the service department.
Maybe just the 2025 model from the new USA plant, however the creaks and cracks from hadliner and dash area are absolutely horrific considering the 52,000 MSRP. Rented many 2023 models which were better. I have 2 year lease and will let this go just for that. Drive and style etc is awesome, rande is over 400 miles for me in Houston. Suspesion was hardened over previous models which is likely the reason the creaks are happening. Too many hard plastics inside?

I took delivery a few days ago, but so far it is as good as expected. Wonderful ride and still discovering all the features.

quit with no warning

Fast Charging - Sapcious Interior
So-so stereo
My second EV and and it is hard to imagine going back to ICE. The car is very smooth, spacious and comfortable. Love the interior and the overall vibe of the car. The regenerative brake settings (one pedal driving) and the DC Fast Charging speeds are both big pluses. I have had to take the car in for software update recalls, but I have not encountered any issues related to those recalls and the software updates were generally finished in an hour or so. I live in southern Arizona so RWD is definitely sufficient and the lack of a rear windshield wiper is not much of an issue here. The range that I get on my typical commute which uses mostly roads with 40-45 mph speed limits is over 350 miles. Hop on the highway for a road trip at 75 mph and that range drops to about 250 miles. Keep in mind that cold weather is not an issue here. Had some anxiety first couple of road trips but that has now faded. The charging speeds and proliferation of stations over the past couple of years has really helped. I wish the stereo on the SEL trim was a bit better, but there are a lot of great features in the car (ADS, smart lift gate, power folding side mirrors etc) that make it just a really easy car to live with.
Better EPA, Style, Comfort, Drive modes
12 volt battery, A/C not always working
Had the 2023 SE AWD for a couple months now. The reviews don’t lie. Such a good EV with good lease deals. Getting better than EPA. Saving money on gas and maint. The only reason why I didn’t give 5 stars is a couple known issues. Some people having 12 volt battery issues. I have not yet. Just need to keep jumpstart cable battery pack in front in case. I also experienced twice now that my A/C was not blowing cold air. Had to shut off and start EV back up to resolve. If it’s more of an issue I’ll have to bring it in.
Comfortable, quiet ride, fast, reliable
This is my 4th EV and by far the best EV, and car in general. Very comfortable and quiet. Underated in many ways. Getting better than rated range in winter.
