One of the best trucks I’ve driven. I traded in my 2020 4 Runner. I test drove the 2025 Land Cruiser. This car surpassed the Land Cruiser and 4 Runner on every aspect of driving experience. On top of that, the new 4 Runner and Land Cruiser require premium fuel.

I have been driving Hondas for many years, and I have never been this disappointed. The build quality of this vehicle is absolutely unacceptable. Looking back, I made the mistake of trusting the dealership when they said the vehicle had been properly inspected before delivery. The moment I drove it off the lot, I knew something wasn’t right. I could feel excessive engine vibration through the steering wheel, the driver’s seat, the gas pedal—basically throughout the entire cabin. It was obvious enough that when I took it back to the dealership, even the service advisor agreed that something felt off. Yet somehow, the technician claimed he couldn’t find anything wrong. Whether that was because he didn’t want to spend the time diagnosing it or simply didn’t care, I don’t know. The service advisor told me he would contact Honda for guidance because he also believed something wasn’t right. To make matters worse, the dealership had me drive another Honda Passport for comparison, and the difference was immediately obvious. The other vehicle felt significantly smoother, confirming that what I was experiencing was not normal. After that, I repeatedly followed up with the dealership and received nothing but silence. I eventually contacted Honda directly, sent a detailed email, and was told that a case manager would work with the dealership and get back to me. Once again—nothing. No follow-up, no updates, no accountability. As if that wasn’t enough, the rear seat rattles over every bump in the road. The dashboard wasn’t even assembled correctly from the factory and had to be completely taken apart and reassembled by the dealership. That is beyond embarrassing for a vehicle at this price point. This is not a cheap vehicle. When someone spends this kind of money, they expect quality, attention to detail, and a company that stands behind its product. Instead, I received a vehicle with obvious quality issues and customer service that has been just as disappointing. This has been a complete loss for me, and I can honestly say I will never buy another Honda again. Whenever anyone asks me about this vehicle or about Honda as a brand, I make sure they know exactly what my experience has been. Honda has completely destroyed the trust and loyalty I built over years of owning their vehicles. At this point, I have seriously considered hiring an attorney. I don’t care if it costs me money. If that’s what it takes to hold Honda accountable and expose the poor quality and lack of customer support I’ve experienced, then it may be worth every penny.

Finally a good-looking Honda vehicle! I have put 10K miles on this in less than a year all over the US. The engine is the old reliable Honda V6 design that runs like a champ. The comfort and roominess is well above expectation--everything just fits and works. Conveniences are all well thought out--whether it is cupholders or the interface menus, analog knobs/buttons etc. My only complaint is that the BLIS is much too aggressive when I am changing to a lane where a car just passed. Car is long gone, has an increasing separation vector, and it still warns me like there is an impending collision. That is a problem that should be addressed with a software fix. Also happens sometimes with cars in front of the vehicle. But otherwise, a superb ride. I dont need the A/T tires, but once ready for tires I will get normal highway cruisers. The Elite comes with more sound deadening which is great, but the tires are the only slight escapee for noise. But that is easy to fix in a couple years.

Excellent vehicle. I’ve owned 2 Toyota 4 Runners 4WD Chevy Blazer 4WD but this new Honda Passport Trail sport Blackout Elite AWD is definitely my favorite.
Best vehicle I have ever owned. Reliable v6 engine, 10 speed transmission for is very fluid, you hardly feel it shifting. Body and suspension have a very solid feel. It doesn’t sound tinny. Great ride as well. Large windows for great all around visibility. Great back up camera. Great sensors round the outside to warn you when getting to close.
Appearance
Transmission, drivetrain, tech failures
This is our third passport. Love the look and styling, but already have had full transmission replacement and vehicle still not operating properly. I’ve been Jerked bucked and jolted while driving. Particularly problematic during low speed driving or bumper to bumper traffic. The transmission gets confused easily and the drive experience is completely eroded. Lurching while braking is another issue as well as hesitation upon acceleration. The best part is it’s intermittent presentation so you just never know what it’s going to do. So disappointed and regretting purchase.
2026 passport trail elite 2000 mi and just loving it.Roomy quite easy to drive. Love the v6 the Bose and sunroof it is an all around great choice if you hate small suvs
Impressive Sporty SUV TrailWatch: Gets me through tight spaces & fun to look at the tire tracks on the screen. Driving Modes: Once you use them, each of the various driving modes has a way of solving certain driving problems, problems that you did not even know could be solved so easily. Learning: Take time to learn and use these modes (and the steering wheel controls) to your delight. I have learned from various videos on YouTube, and of course, your favorite new car salesman. This SUV packs in so much!
Everybody says "buy Honda and Toyota". I say "why?". They are the mist reliable cars on the road, they say. I say then they don't need a service department right? Well, they arent perfect, but they can go 200k! So can a Jeep, Dodge, Chevy and Ford. I bought into the hype and made this my first foreign car of the at least 30 I have purchased over my lifetime. Here's the Pros: the orange color is awesome; it has very nice seat back protectors, the V6 engine is very responsive; it has alot of interesting settings that you can customize if you care about that sort of thing; I have been able to put 15 standard size totes in at one time AND carried a passenger Cons:nThe electronics are very confusing (I consider myself to be a little techy), the ride is rough on the trail sport off road tires and VERY NOISY!; The seats are uncomfortable for anything over 3 hours; no garage door opener; no power passenger seat; no Sirius xm; most important is the HORRENDOUS MPG! I have only managed 14 mpg combined compounded by the small gas tank. I am not a lead foot. Overall disappointed with the vehicle.
